As a result, the girls' faces look like their glowing (not in a good way) and washed out in whiteness. It's not a huge flaw (I will re-examine the DVD to be sure, I'm pointing this out based on memory), but it's noticeable in many of the close-ups, and in the case of shot-on-video, probably unavoidable.
