How do you think the close-ups are going to look in blu-ray? Are we going to start seeing some of the flaws in the girls? Do you prefer the high definition to the regular dvd releases?

Its only shallow here because everybody on the internet is better than the general population. Nobody on the net loves airbrushed beauties, every single one of us purchases nothing but amatuer porn where the girls look "real". We don't go in for that rough gonzo stuff, that's for other people, we like realistic sex, preferably between real couples.
I've seen HD porn and personally it makes me want to go get a VHS tape half the time. My porn is fantasy, just like the rest of my movies. Guess what? I know real women have bruises, hair, and pimples. I also know that Keanu Reeves is NOT the One and I'm fairly certain that Robert Englund can't attack me in my dreams. But I enjoy my entertainment when my girls have nice racks, slender wastes and if I want to get some from them the only thing I need to do is whip it out and suddenly they start gulping it down and letting me shove in them anywhich way I choose.
What I find curiuos is wether the amount of people online making these claims are being honest and really don't purchse/support that kind of porn or wether everybody just wants to fit in with the elitist. Same as the "books are better than movies" that EVERYBODY claims but book sales and the amount of forums and the like dedicated to books seems to tell the truth. People say one thing and mean another.

Perhaps pornsters could pull back from the action, to show more full body views. And the viewer who wants closeups can use the DVD remote to zoom in without getting blurriness, thanks to the higher resolution.

I can certainly understand anyone who likes the fantasy world that is porn and doesn't want to taint it by seeing more reality than they would like but I've watched a ton of porn and I can attest to the fact that there has been unflattering footage of girls in both VHS and DVD format already. What I don't understand are people who can't seem to handle a woman's flaws. Maybe I'm the only one who doesn't have a constant stream of perfect tens beating down my door so I'm a little more tolerant when it comes to imperfection.

A close-up in HD doesn't look that much different from a close-up in SD. It's shots from a distance where HD really starts to make sense. The more details there are the better it looks.

Personally.. I fear to watch a title of mine in blue-ray or HD. Every now and then, I get time to watch tv.. I've spent entirely too much time upgrading everything to HD. When everything was finally hooked up.. I turned on the tv and CSI was on... I could see little stray hairs on the lady's head.. I could see her make up lines.. I could even see that her lips were chapped and slightly peeling.
It amazed me to know that this once flawless looking lady was real...
HOWEVER.. It gave me a sick feeling in my stomach to know that every single imperfection was about to be exposed.
Makeup lines distract me.
The good part.. is you know we are real.. we have goosebumps, bumps in general, scars, bruises, skin discoloring, stretch marks ect...
The bad part to me.. is that when I watch porn.. I'm really looking at shit. If it were 3am and I needed some hot visual of big tits and hard cock.. I would be distracted by things like implant scars... it would divert my attention..
Lord knows I'm not flawless... but porn has always been about fantasy... and in my head.. fantasy has no make-up lines.

I would take FLAWED close-up shots in HD any day over "seemingly perfect" looking far-away shots in HD or close-ups in SD.
People have flaws - even the most beautiful of them. Appreciate beauty. No need to tear somebody apart.

This would be very interesting to see what kind of scenes would be produced by the porn makers. Will cgi-mope still jerk himself to cum on cgi-girl's face? Will the virtual cameraman still gravitate toward super-closeups of balls and genitals? Will we still have tilted/rotated camera perspective? All in the name of "keeping it real"?
