| Valentine Member flash in the pan 153 Posts 8/11 | There is one in pre-production. I know this b/c my cousin is the DP (cinematographer) and he is listed in IMDB and has a moderately impressive resume - he makes a living working in Hollywood and around the U.S.A. and in other countries but he's not a rich "made" man - just a regular working guy - but not a GWC (guy with camera). As I don't know how these things work in terms of getting off the ground or not, but as I know more about Porn than he does, I thought why not use this wonderful forum to bounce ideas around. He would not be filming in India. The idea would be to make a documentary on pornstars of the Indian Sub-Continent (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and Maldives) also known as South Asia - regardless of where they were born. They would be Desi. The focus would be on Bollywood Pornstars that are working in the U.S.A., U.K., and France. I do know that he has secured interviews with 2 stars who left the business in 2008 and who both live in the U.K. and were born in the U.K. - so, that's a start. Who should be interviewed? What broader social contexts should be considered? Can the answer to the looming question as to why many other ethnicities have many more pornstars but this Subcontinent with nearly a billion and half (1.5 billion) people with a massive Diaspora does not? Please take this in any direction...high-brow...low-brow...it doesn't matter. The idea is to provide a complete picture so all aspects, angles, etc. of porn are welcomed. Are there other porn documentaries that could provide some structure? I suggested "The Girl Next Door" type thing (well, I would - look at my username) but that idea was killed because such a notion focuses on one person. There is a scope limit...don't want to go back to the origins of Erotica from India before the advent of film (so no ancient drawings and stories in Sanskrit inside caves). I'm fairly certain this would focus on the past 20 years unless there was some exceptional reason/person to consider from the 80s. From what I have gathered (I have sat in on a meeting with his usual crew/team), there is also no interest in Bollywood mainstream films that show half a tit or whatever. This is about Porn, and more specifically Pornstars, of the Indian Sub-Continent (regardless of place of birth) working in the West. | Dan Senior Member 2056 Posts 6/07 | I think different societies exercise different amounts of control over their individuals through laws, peer pressure, and informal enforcement of social taboos. The reason why women from the Indian subcontinent stay away from performing in porn is because porn women from there are likely to suffer legal punishment, social shunning and isolation in their communities, and even honor killings from their own relatives. This is the kind of thing western women don't need to deal with. Which makes them more free to do as they please, including perform in porn movies. |

| Valentine Member flash in the pan 153 Posts 8/11 | 1) Let me break down your post a little bit. I don't want to debate whether or not Anjali Kara's interview was real or fake but you will agree that she had reasons to deny its truth, yes? 2) Killergram could do a much better job of promoting U.K. born, pornstars of Indian background. London, Manchester, the entire nation really is full of Desi's but a glimpse at Killergram's girls shows that most of what they call "Asian" is what is called "Asian" in the United States. Other than Anjali Kara (you can search for yourself), all the other Asians that seem to come up are not of the Subcontinent. Killergram is weak enough when it comes to producing pornstars in general and other than Carmel Moore, Sophie Dee, and a few others their product has been unremarkable so if they can't even do fish & chips, it would be naive to expect them to do curry & chips. I loathe Killergram because they do not do justice to the beautiful women of The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. 3) The focus of the documentary would be on people like Priya Rai, Destiny Deville, Leah Jaye, and many others who either were not born in India, of if they were born in India (like Priya) worked outside India, and have no desire to return to India other than to visit a great aunty in Bombay (excuse me, Mumbai). 4) My understanding is that India is a Social Democracy. When I visited there as a tourist (and I enjoyed every moment of my month there), I got the sense that as compared to Pakistan (where I have also visited), you were living in a relatively free country or a country that purports to be relatively free. People asked me when I returned from my travels "why is it that Hindus are peaceful and Muslims are violent?" And I responded "um, both India and Pakistan have nuclear bombs." Then, we have those who are not Desi come on this site and make India sound like an Islamic State which it is not. To hear you say it as someone who is Indian only reinforces the idea that the social norms of the Indian sub-continent transcend religion and that it does not matter if you are Hindu, Muslim, Jain, Sikh, Buddhist, Parsi - you will be treated the same if you engage in any kind of erotica - so I guess as far as the Indian sub-continent goes - people are treated the same everywhere when it comes to pornography and that is sad for a nation who elects its leaders to Parliament in free elections. 5) Has the BJP taken over? Respectfully, Valentine |

| santasingh Member 301 Posts 11/11 | 2.) I agree, disanto does very good camerawork but they are shooting 18-20 mins clips and releasing everyday without any advertising and publicity.they don't have control also on file shares as most of the clips they release available very next day on file shares.they need some help from companies like removeyourcontent.com to get the file shares content removed proactively.ideally they should be doing one movie which is story based and release it with big bang publicity.dirty movie from Rachel Steele was one of the examples here with 2 hrs long movie, first Bollywood porn parody .file shares was controlled and monitored for first four months till the time movie meets the target of revenue :). 3.)if you see my "pornoeconomics" thread you will see some analytical results from google and where is the demand for porn.it does have facts and figures on current economic situations and where is the money which porn production studios can target.basics of business is supply should be in the area of demand.the more you restrict people from doing something they will be more curious to try that out.from middle east onwards porn is in demand, for US and Europe its plenty of porn available.there is a reason why Hollywood porn producers targeting India and other Asia markets .can porn production studios create a b /c grade movies which are released in theatres in India ?i believe yes.hinfu ,Muslim what religion people they are,it doesn't matter, every one like sex :).they may not accept this openly but if you search the personal computers and drawers you can find porn easily .i feel sorry for India as we have designated places for prostitution in almost every city, porn DVDs selling secretly on every street but people in India publically will say " no it is bad thing, not good for society".us and Europe atleast people are more honest and they have accepted this fact and porn industry helps them to boost economy.in India if you go to prostitution areas in every city you may find much more beautiful girls then what we have seen in industry today but they are living a life of beggar because porn industry is illegal in india,so if India doesn't make the porn industry soon ,I am sure countries outside India will target this soon and India will have Bollywood parodies made from outside India.dirty movie is one example and the maximum number of people who bought this movie are Indians even though it was priced at 60 usd. So imagine how much money flow is happening to India and now people can buy porn over Internet so it opens up new doors for production studios. 4.) have you seen pecados da India ? Movie from Julia paes? If I mute the sound change the name of Julia paes to Priya then Julia paes will look more Indian then Priya rai and others what you have mentioned :).there are different views and different people say different thing on if they are Indians or not ,you have to believe them :).for clips it may be important if girl is Indian or not but for story based movies it needs acting.actors are not limited by religion, race, language. Dirty movie from Rachel Steele was one example.so you may expect second Bollywood parody soon done by some pornstar who is more actress then pornstar. 5.)all political parties in India are same ,all of them have corrupt politicians and people who will have biggest porn collection in secret drawer. It in front of everyone they will say porn is bad :),they may be jacking off alone in the foo .i don't want to quote names here but you search and find many Indian politicians what they do :) |
| Valentine Member flash in the pan 153 Posts 8/11 | Super informative post!!! Rachel Steele clearly does not look Indian. Julia Paes does. Desi's can generally spot other Desi's - and most Indians would not confuse someone from the Subcontinent with someone who was Latino. Having said that, the consumer mainly cares about the fantasy aspect and bottom line if it makes a profit, if it sells, parodies like you mentioned and Brazilians posing as Indians will have their place in the market. In one movie (and I'm blanking on the pornstar now) the woman speaks in Hindi – perfect Hindi – and then goes on to shoot in English with Americans or Brits...Caucasians. I enjoyed that if only for its novelty. I hope that we see more Desi women in porn - and my heart goes out to those beautiful women you mentioned in the slums. They deserve better. We hear so much about in the west...it's not so much human trafficking...but about sex tours (well, I guess that is a form of human trafficking) in places like Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Does it happen in India too? Or maybe not because prostitution in India is regulated - but not illegal? Or has the government cracked down on these kinds of sex tours? Any insight you can provide would be useful. Dhanyavaad / Shukriyaa |
| santasingh Member 301 Posts 11/11 | In India, there are designated place, if you see a documentary available on youtube on a area in calcutta "Sona gachi" , you will have tears in your eyes after seeing the kind of life they have to live. areas similar to sona gachi are in almost every major city of india and it is under police protection, and police doesn't disturb the business till sometime in night. what indian police is more interested in is ,catching high profile escorts who does this for easy money, you can read this in many news papers about some tv actresses doing it for easy money. So in India you can find everything from a high level escorts to low class sex workers. There is a website also if you search on google for high profile escorts in india :) Some people keep on complaining and some people take step to change things :) , In India we have one saying "KAUN KEHATA HAI KEE AASMAAN MEIN SURAAG NAHIN HOTA, EK PATHAR TO TABIYAT SE UCHALO YAARON" (Means - everyone say that you cannot make a hole in sky but you can do it if you throw the stone with full efort and atleast give a try to make the things change :) since you mentioned desi's can recognize desi ..you made me smile :) so i created a small quiz for you. Now you will choose which one of these girls is indian and who should be doing second bollywood parody :), so which ever girl you will say is indian, she will be working in second bollywood parody :) , I hope few more bollywood parodies will make the things change :) ![]() |

| Valentine Member flash in the pan 153 Posts 8/11 | I won’t guess again but I'll let you know if the project takes flight. Thanks for all your insights. And PM me a list of names if there is a world of Subcontinent pornstars I am totally missing out on that I could at least see clips of on the web before I pay cash for a subscription / DVD. Cheers! |
| santasingh Member 301 Posts 11/11 | Indian girls are very very rare in porn industry and whenever any production studio announced anything related on Indian theme (specially movie not a clip), it gave them huge returns. In South India lot of B Grade and C Grade movies are made but what they do is they shoot two versions of film. the version which doesn't have full nudity they get it passed from censor board and release it in theatres. the uncensored scene's with full nudity gets mixed up in some theatres and sometimes release on internet to boos publicity. The C Grade movies have much higher returns in comparison to High budget Bollywood movies which sometimes goes flop and producers gets loss. B Grade/C Grade movies are made on very low budget and released in all small and big cities of India and does give returns to movie makers.these movies will not have full frontal hardcore scenes. some of the actresses who did it from south India are "Babilona, rehsma, sindhu, malika etc. Two- three years back a director from calcutta made a courageous effort by making a hybrid of porn and mainstream , a film name "GANDU" which got nominated in many award festivals and won the awards. this movie was in news for its full frontal hardcore scene's and story/direction.Now in Main Bollywood Industry, we have B /C Grade films as well. one of the famous director/producer who produce movies together with his wife is "KANTI SHAH" and the return of investment on these low budget movies is very high.Movies based on sex topics or showing even just a back of women's body almost no nudity got into limelight and have got success. One of the girl from bollywood who was courageous enough to do full nude scene's was "DIMPLE SEVAK" but her nude scene's never became a part of release of film in theatres. the full nude scenes got mixed up in some theatres and released on internet to get publicity. Many models of India try to get some cheap publicity by posing partial nude, which is enough sensation for indian people :).Bollywood producers admit that sex sells :). Now coming to what we call porn , girls doing full frontal hardcore scene's. MySexyIndia.com is one website where you can find girls like Madhuri patel, mysexyneha.com you can find neha nair, yes they are indians but not sure if they are still based in india .Jazmine from bangladesh did one POV Scene by talking in Hindi (only in the begining), which was a big sensation for indian viewers. search on google "jazmine talking dirty hindi" , you will find it easily.I believe almost 90% of Indians who can access porn on internet must have seen it and they loved it.Billions of Indian population and Millions of Indians spreaded all across the world and living in US and Europe, so there is a big audience for porn and green field for production studio's to target.Indina Censorboard is very strict usually but somehow they manage to release a movie "DELHI BELLY" which has hindi abusive language used in movie and movie became a super duper hit, in the past one director created a movie called "URF Professor"(Hindi Abusive language and some sex scene) , this movie was never released by censorboard and finally it was released on youtube. the producer /director of movie URF Professor is no more with us. The original "THE DIRTY PICTURE" was based on story of actress Silk Smitha (from 80's) who started doing some seducing scenes (no nudes) in movies, she was the first one who defined sex scenes/seducing dances into indian movie industry. In 80's people dont have video players and movie was released only in theatres. she used to 10-20 minutes scenes in 3 hour movie and people used to buy tickets for many shows just to watch that 20 minutes song/ scene and once the scene is over they used to get out of theatre and wait for next show. That is India for you :) . People like to see it if someone does it but in front of everyone they would like to show that watching sex scene's , adult movies is not a right thing to do.Adult movies , nudity is not good for indian culture but they will be the first one to go and watch it . If you see a news from any model going partial nude, you will see 1000's of people commenting bad things about her but they forget the moment they saw the news first thing they did is to check that video and after enjoying the nudity, they say it is wrong, its bad...ha ha ha.. Have you heard about three monkeys message from Gandhi Ji "don't say bad things (close your mouth), don't see bad (close your eyes) , don't hear bad (if someone say bad things close it)" ...i hope you can make out the meaning of it :) There are enough sensational stories you can find.....There is a reason why DIRTY MOVIE from rachel steele was such a big hit :), she targetted the green field. If you can really make such a documentary knowing the limitations and challenges, it will be a great acheivement. |
