The outcome: he could film the birth, but baby's face should be blurred out so as not to be identifiable. The process took so long that the woman gave birth in the early hours with nobody else, other than maternity professionals, to witness it let alone record the occasion. The situation and ruling didn't really make much sense to me. Firstly, didn't think filming the birth put the baby in any danger (this presumes it'd be the only time and would grow up in a realtively healthy, loving environment); Secondly what older child, teenager, adult looks like they were as a new born!? Lastly, if the woman is seen with a child/young person later on people are going to see that person. Although, of course, hardly anybody would remember enough about it any number of years later to identify the parties involved. However, I think I did see the woman years later, without child: I walked out of a fast food burger restaurant onto the main street and happened to spot her walking down the road (towards my location). It's not the first time that somebody from a much larger/richer country has gotten away with a lengthy prison stay. The potential for a lack of evidence, especially if the supposed victims were Australians which left for home. But you're right! What actual harm has she done to herself, others, or society as a whole? Sex with a willing participant in a restrictive country (Australian potential underage celebrating in a foreign country), being in a video with a hardly aware and dubiously conscious baby. Though we should call people out for these dubious acts that almost ignore the rights and effects on others simply to create attention to and for oneself. There's an idea of bringing a sport or industry into disrepute which I think she has done many times over. That cavalier attitude is dangerous (a slippery slope invalidity I'm aware). [Link] |

Despite claiming she conceived during the event, something which is highly doubtful and improbable.
