Where can I find reviews of Brazilian videos/DVDs? ..my local video shop (300 Book) has some Brazilian videos that I would like to check out but first I want to know if I'm really gonna see what they show on the boxcover.

It´s very easy to review brazilian-made porn movies.

Crap, crap, crap, pile of crap, shitty, crap, avoid, avoid, run, crap, crap...

And yes, I live in Brazil, where everybody who directs a porn flick is a hack.

Some of the ones released by the brazilian branch of Evil Angel are decent, but they´re so badly lit that you can hardly see what the fuck was happening. Those guys think that DV-Cams are magic tools.

There is MarcoStudio in Brazil that makes exceptionally good gay videos but on videotape only. I have not heard of any other Brazilian studios producing quality product - gay or str8.

Kristen Bjorn used to make excellent gay videos there but he has not been back to Brazil in about a dozen years now.

He may not be Brazilian - I do not know. His name is Max Julian and he lives in Brazil. The videos are made there with Brazilian cast members. The finished videos are distributed in the USA under the MarcoStudio label. The guys are generally hot and the videography is good to excellent. The sex tends to vary from good to very good. Even the str8-trade tops appear to be having fun.
I hope so! There are several of the MarcoStudio titles I'll buy as soon as they become available. However, MarcoStudio were promising DVDs last summer, too ... I'm sure they will get around to DVD releases eventually.

I´ve heard that Max Julian is french, with a LARGE know-how on cinematography and editing techniques acquired on mainstream stuff. That´s why he´s so competent.

But 101% of the brazilian porn directors hardly know where´s the ON button on a DV camera.

I still remember a movie, released by the brazilian branch of EA, where the cameraman shot the entire scene AGAINST AN OPEN WINDOW. It was like watching a fucking shadow puppets show.
