I seriously doubt that prevents their scenes getting shared, but it might help them finding the scenes and having them removed. You probably get a lot of hits you have to skim through for pirated content when searching for a performer name. When searching for the scene title you probably get less hits and thus need to spend less time finding your pirated content. [Link]

There are many sites that follow same has pirated content everywhere. Second thing, BRCC and it's network sites are infamous for one-timer performers. Many girls doing straight Anal and doesn't appear anywhere (If privacy is matter in such case then I agreed to not disclose names, but they would've opt for others). Also many girls who started career with them are struggling to make their identity despite first scene was successful (means they are not promoting girls social handles). I was member of one of their site few months back and I can guarantee that they already did fabulous job preventing piracy. If I change my IP by VPN then I've to authorized my PC again by mail. Nowadays, creators are using multi-DRM technology like each copy looses it's quality over further distributions. And downloaded copy detect hardware (PC mac address or IP address) from where it is being leaked. That's it. After that creator can take legal action against that user. [Link]

In the case of GDP someone just started tracking episode numbers instead. [Link]

Pretty much every approach on DRM and piracy prevention harms the paying customer more than the person pirating the content anyway. I pay for my porn, because I want good quality and keep the people producing it going. They are already using the xvid autograph stuff that should make the videos traceable and doesn't hurt the paying customer. I really hope they revert back to naming the girls. I keep flinching on every BRCC video that starts with "Today we have XX years old <BEEEP>..." :) [Link]

Someone on Reddit downloaded the same video twice from two different paid accounts, on two different computers and Internet networks (to avoid the same MAC/IP address) and a hex editor showed zero difference between the 2 files. Granted that was a different porn site (which I won't mention), but they claimed to be using Xvid Autograph too. It claims to insert a unique watermark into every single frame of the video, but that would take far too long to generate and the downloads start instantly from the servers. [Link]
