For all the ladies who work in porn, I was just wondering what you'd tell your future kid/s about your profession? Would you simply tell them "that's what I did, for better or worse" or would you try to explain to them the reasons why you did it? Do you think you'd find it hard to tell them?

More than actually telling the kids what you did before they were born I was/am truly worried about those porn starlets who have been into preggie scenes.Wonder how they wud ever be able to explain to their children that while they(starlets) were carring them(the kids)they shot for this film. or worse the child finding out that momma was getting pounded and grinded while they were inside...Isn't the very thought of explaining to them why they did it then....truly disturbing? I was wondering this very same thing myself a little while ago. My favorite porn star is Beauty Dior and she has a kid. I've always wondered...what if her kid finds out? What is she going to tell him/her? Edited by - sickguy on 6/24/2007 2:26:29 PM
My kids show off my Best Newbie award to their friends. My son even took a picture of the two of us with me holding the trophy to post on his MySpace. They are PROUD of me. Is it so difficult to believe that a performer would raise his/her children with an attitude of tolerance and lack of repression of sexuality based on someone else's religious beliefs? My children have always been aware, in an age appropriate fashion, of my job. When I was a dancer, it was simple, "Mommy dances naked and men like to watch that." My boys thought that was hysterical. When I stopped dancing in bars and started dancing private parties it was still simple, "Mommy hates smokey bars full of drunk guys and this pays more money." My kids were more comfortable with that because they knew someone I trusted to keep me safe was always with me at parties, and they knew the women I worked with (my older kids even babysat for my partner when we worked). When I started doing fetish modeling and video it was STILL simple, "Mommy doesn't mind getting her picture taken doing this stuff, it pays very well and doesn't take up so many hours so I have more time to be at home." My kids all think fetish porn is the funniest thing in the world. When I moved into hardcore porn, it did take a bit of explaining. They didn't like me traveling across the country. I had to explain why I couldn't stay home to do it. They worried about me flying, they worried about me not having anyone I knew with me to make sure I was safe. They worried about how tired I was, they worried about how my allergies acted up. They didn't worry about me having sex with people on camera, because that didn't bother me so there must not be any reason for it to bother them. My daughter, who is having her normal teen romances asks me questions now about my feelings and sex. She wants to know how I can have sex with people I don't love. She wants to know how I can have a relationship with someone and still have sex with others outside of that relationship. I always answer her honestly, but it boils down to one basic statement. Sex is what I do with my body, love is what I do with my mind.

Wow! That's some great insight Kimi. I'm actually very fascinated with the part about having sex with people with no emotioal attatchment. I recently fell in love with stripper which has caused some serious depression for me. This got me thinking " does this ever happen to porn stars?" Do they ever show up for a shoot, and when the scene is finised they suddenly realize "oh my God, I think I have serious feelings for this person". Because of my situation with this stripper, I just can't comprehend how this never happens to performers because I've had my fair share of dances with many different strippers and this has never happened before. I got some dances from this paticualr dancer, went home, and have not been able to stop thinking about her. This is what got me thinking "what if I was porn star and this happened?". It made realize I could never be in that profession in case this happened with another performer. It would be to difficult of situation for me. I understand that it wouldn't happen with all of them, but you think it would happen once in a while.
I think kids are more interested in what kind of mom or dad you are to them You can only be shamed if you accept the shame. Love has nothing to do with fucking. You don’t have to be in love to share a good fuck. More women are starting to say I’m not in love I just want to fuck. Everyone’s mom has fucked at least once lol and she did the cream pie lol lol
I think in some cases it was an ass cream pie lol Edited by - Shagdog on 6/24/2007 5:41:34 PM
I'm not in the porn biz and I obviously can't answer on behalf of Kimi or any other pornstar, but: - since many pornstars are known to have had relationships with other pornstars, it it clear that it does sometimes "happen to pornstars". They're people, after all. - A couple of years ago I saw a documentary (Heidi im Pornoland) about the Swiss pornstar Laetitia Bisset. It was kind of a 'serious' documentary, not a sensationist ten-minute showbiz tv item. She confessed to the interviewer that she had developed feelings for Mark Davis. Many people in many professions fall in love with and/or have serious relationships with co-workers. I don't think being a porn performer makes that any more or less likely to happen. I propose the novel concept that it has nothing to do with having sex on the porn set but rather meeting someone with characteristics you like and are attracted to. I don't think it's quite the same as a customer falling for a stripper. After all, it's her goal to seduce and attract you, but as a job. You're supposed to give in to that feeling while remaining rational about it being a fantasy. Now if the stripper fell for the customer, who knows!?!I couldn't agree more. No matter what your profession, if you are a lousy parent you're a lousy parent. If you're a decent parent, your children will try to understand and accept everything else. They may not always succeed, but they will try and they will love you.
@Kimi: Awesome response! A very sane and reasonable approach from an obviously balanced person. It belies so many stereotypes of porn performers, and reading it made my day. Thanks Kimi

Kimi gave a good answer and it seems to work for her and her kids. But what about outsiders? Like the kids friends, neighbors etc...Sooner or later if/when the moms career is found out they will get the usual teasing and judgements of others. Growing up a kid is tough enough as it is. Now you add everyone can see your mom doing stuff that is (supposedly)taboo. I mean back when I was a kid if someone said your mom was fat, those were school yard fighting words. Can you imagine some kid hearing "Yeah we saw your mom take 10 loads on her face." and it's just not some taunt, it's true! It's out there for all to see, you can't even deny it. Or say your kid has a best friend, who all of a sudden can't be their friend because some suck up priss of a mom found out and won't let them play together anymore? So the "porn" parent and kid having a healthy understanding is cool, but it's just half the battle IMO.

Well, if some mom won't let her child play with another child who's mom is not acceptable in her eyes, that's known as being a parent. It's her right to protect her child the way she feels fit. It's kind of funny here also, everyone seems to feel that being a porn star is a respectable and acceptable job. Guess what? It's not. Look at their Myspace pages, and other non-official sites, or chat with them out in public. Very rarely do the stars of porn indicate their job as Porn Star. It's Model, Actress, Entertainer, Exotic Dancer, etc. And they don't call it porn either, it's Adult Video! As if either is going to change the fact that they are getting paid to have sex on digital. I met a sometime porn star/singer a few months ago and one of my co-workers said to her, "you look familiar" she replied with a, "I have my own band!" and under her breath said, "and I've done a few videos!" The point is, not matter what anyone says, the girls of porn know for the most part that noone really approves of their choice to do porn. If they did, they would rush right home and say, "Mom, Dad, guess what? I'm the star of the new (insert porn dvd name here)gonzo film from (porn company)!" And not only that, they would use their real name to make the family proud, instead of some silly stage name. And yes, there will always be the exception to every rule about a family accepting the choice to do porn, but for the most part, the family will be looking to jump in front of a train or truck, or throw the porn star daughter in front of the truck to redeem the family name.
I guess you didn't understand that my kids DO tell "outsiders" about me. My neighbors all know that I've done porn. The parents of my kids' friends know. Their boyfriends and girlfriends know. Everyone knows. It's NOT a secret. Some don't care. Some are bothered. Some want a picture with me. My kids have long since decided that anyone who thinks their mom is a bad person just because she's done porn is not someone they want to associate with. My kids don't tolerate intolerance. (that's supposed to be amusing)Crap happens. I've made rules about my kids playing with other people's kids that I didn't approve of. I'm sure my kids didn't like that, but I did what I thought was best. Other parents are allowed to decide that for their children, too. Even if it hurts my kids feelings. At a certain age it doesn't matter and kids make their own decisions about who they want to be around. It's never easy to be a kid and to have choices made for you.
Nah, mostly it's just to protect our privacy from insane nutjobs and bible thumpers. Well... those are mostly the same people, but whatever. Plenty of people in the public eye use pseudonyms. Authors, musicians, magicians, actors, even politicians sometimes change their names (although, that's usually to appeal to a wider demographic - kinda like a gal named Bernice probably thinks that's not a very sexy name for porn). Performers of all sorts, and for lots of reasons.
Well no different from the Osborne's I suppose I'm sure my future children if any as I'm not really hip to having any. But if i did have kids I'd let them know mommy lived the life of a rock star and toured the world had groupies you name it your mommy had a similar life to a rock star but mommy made erotic movies and also directed them and I'd teach my children sex isn't a bad thing it's natural and if they had any questions at all not to be embarrassed to ask me. You bring your children up right they will have an open mind and be free thinkers and not listen to everyone's opinions but be able to make opinions of their own.
It must be one of the most awkward things to live with, knowing that there will be many people who will look down on you and snigger and whisper behind your back (mind you, that goes on anyway so...)

let me pose this hypothetical situation, and my own opinion is there is nothing wrong with it. At some point, kimmie lixx, your kids might watch some of your porn, and might even be turned on by it, and might even masturbate to mommys porn vids. your son or daughter might be college age, masturbating furiously, watching that video, talking to the tv, going "yeah, slam my moms cunt!! bury that fucking bone in my moms hole!! fuck that hole I came out of!!"
Considering that several of my children are college age, and they all know my stage name, and they've certainly had any opportunity they wanted to do this - it hasn't happened. They only find out what movies I'm in so they can be sure to avoid accidently ever viewing them. They don't think I'm hot, they think I'm Mom. They don't think I'm sexual, they think I'm Mom. They aren't interested in seeing me have sex, I'm Mom. I'm old, I'm Mom. That's gross, I'm Mom. My kids are not interested in watching me perform. I'm sure not interested in seeing my mother perform. Do you want to see your mother having sex? mod: extraneous quote removed - see the Forum Etiqutte Edited by - hardware on 7/4/2007 7:17:56 PM
If you have a daughter and if she went into porn it would have to be the first 3 generation pornstar family, bar none. I can't decide if that's hot or not.
If I did have a child he or she would be a free thinker and do what they felt is best for them and if they wanted to do porn then that's an adult choice and as an adult not my business. But like any parent I would hope my child would excel and become better then me and become successful and accomplish more then myself.
I truly enjoyed reading the postings on this strain, Kimi and Jewel have a very grounded attitude toward this topic. Like every other U.S. citizen, for the most part, I was raised with the idea that shame was the same as discretion. While there is a fine line, discretion is a matter of choosing to disclose/share things in an adult fashion as an autonomous, educated, open minded individual. Shame is the feeling of not living up to others' expectations. We can compartmentalize alot of the various roles and obligations in our life, but when we lose honesty in the face of shame, we hurt way more than we protect. These ladies' responses just prove even more that women are fucking amazing!!! Love y'all
