Not really. I'm hoping for a discussion--which is what I'm getting. I'm asking "if" there are things that Jenna Jameson did for the industry that should be done by some other girl now. And who would that be. And what does it mean if no one is capable of doing it.

In my mind JJ is a revolutionary figure in porn. And like other revolutionary figures from the past there's not one successor, but many successors who carry on the revolutionary legacy. Here are some historical analogies: After Jefferson there came the Jeffersonians After Napoleon there came Bonapartism After Ford there came Fordism and After JJ there are the Jamesonists. I agree with you.You're absolutely correct. That's why I still say Tera Patrick. Tera has pretty much mirrored her career after Jenna's and has most of the same elements in place. Tera treats porn like a business and is always trying to build and grow. Tera is also well spoken and treats porn like a no nonsense business. She knows how to handle questions from the mainstream about the biz and has the right amount of "elegance" about her. No offense to Jesse Jane (I'm a fan) but Jesse could come off like the ditsy carefree blonde type. Nothing wrong with that per se (I like it) but that type of personality is just too easy for the mainstream to attack and ridicule.

I think there are two kinds of porn actresses: 1. The "Spencer's Gifts Pin Up" girl. (Everyone knows who she is-she might be more of a feature actress. Jesse Jane, Stormy, Tera Patrick, Jenna Jameson, and Kirsten Price-although I think she's a little nastier and is type-casted because of her looks.) 2. The "Marilyn Chambers Model" girl. ( If you know of her-then you watch some serious porn. e.g. Tory Lane) I think Jenna Haze has the ability to be both. She is the girl you can take shopping at A&F one minute, and ATM with the next. Her male market: 18-36. And bi-curious girls are attracted to her because they can see themselves hanging with her at spring break in Cancun going 'Wild'. So the crowning of a "new" Jenna Jameson, in truth, will probably go to a "Spencer's Gifts Pin Up" girl. I think it has been this way since the 1980's. The late Savanna had that pin up look. It will happen this way due to exposure. It is kind of like a "best butt award"; the more DVD covers you get your naked ass on, the more likely you are to win that award Now, me personally, I like to watch a girl who enjoys her job.
I would say Jesse she would have a cross over appeal to amainstream MALE audience, she seems to love what she does and she has a huge FUN factor to her. I don't think the male mainstream would care for features like "elegance" and "eloquence" in a porn star. Jesse is as hot as hell and she seems like a lot of fun to watch hosting a red carpet event, and I would rather that watch that than a porn chick "play professional journalist" Does Jesse have the business sense of Jenna? Maybe not... People have to remember that when Jenna popped up in the mid 90s she had the right look at the right time that was unheard of in porn in that time and Jenna only started to brand herself in the twilight of her career. If Jesse Jane had started at the same time as Jenna Jameson there is little doubt she would have had the same success as Jenna. ___Eurobabes Rule!!!!
I don't consider the movies made by Jenna, Jesse or Tera "porn". I don't find either of them all that hot either. Jenna Haze or Teagan is more like it.
I get the feeling most participants misunderstand the purpose of this thread. Maybe I'm wrong. English isn't my language. But I always considered this to be the place for serious guesses who can become the next inofficial ambassador of porn. Certainly not a question of personal preferences regarding looks or sex acts.
You sound like someone who says you're throwing your vote away if you vote for a third party candidate. You vote for who you want. It's not like Queen of Porn is an official title anyway. Are you saying Jenna and Teagan aren't serious choices? They're both really popular, have done alot of hot scenes, have contract girl status, done mainstream stuff and are hot as hell.
They aren't serious choices. I don't think there will be another one after Jenna Jameson. But if then she will be an established Wicked, Digital Playground or, less likely, Vivid girl. So it boils down to Stormy, Jesse, Tera or a girl we don't know yet.
"Fun" is great if you're having a party. If you're doing an interview you want "eloquence". If had a choice of just hanging with either of the two I'd Jesse over Tera. If I had to do an interview or talk to one about the business of porn I'd have to go with Tera. Not to put down Jesse but with her look, attitude and voice to many people would be too dismiss her as Jessica Simpson/Paris Hilton flakey blonde type even though she really isn't.But even so, Jenna had the business smarts and the drive to take those lucky breaks and use them to propel her career. Jenna got lucky but actually worked to turn it into something. Jesse has had a bit of that type of exposure and from what I've seen really haven't worked to do much with it that would get her noticed outside of porn.I see no evidence of that. Being cute and fun doesn't do much to capture the mainstream's attention.
You are right about "why" I started this thread, but I believe it's okay to let it stray a little off topic as long as the discussion relates to the question of whether or not the industry needs an "un-official ambassador of porn" to the mainstream world/media. And if the answer is "yes," does a current female performer have the goods to fill the bill. After reading over all of the posts/discussion, I'm leaning towards Tera Patrick. But only as a "place holder." While Tera has the performance cred, the business smarts, is a role model to the newer girls, and the ability to represent the industry as a strong, confident, (non-victim) female, she is also at the point in her career where retirement will be sooner, not later.

Stormy has implants...they just don't look like the 'Frankentits' bolt-ons that so many other girls get. She still rocks though...! As for 'The Next Jenna' porn/mainstream crossover girl, I believe it will be somebody not yet in the industry. If Stormy, Tera, Jenna Haze, Jesse, Teagan et al. were the next big thing, then they would already be #1. Tera and Stormy are the ones leading the pack to take over the role in the interim, but neither of them knocked Jenna off her throne while she was still active, and that kind of speaks volumes to me. Jenna's retirement is something the industry needs to address and quickly, though...she bought a lot of customers into stores on the strength of her name alone, so the whole industry benefited. It's time for the marketing people to get to work on making (and hyping) the next big thing. It's a shame that there isn't more transparency in the industry with regards to sales, as I'm sure the big VOD companies like AEBN have some interesting stats on who is really bringing in the money. Unlike DVDs (where someone might buy, say, a Jesse Jane DVD for another girl's scene in the movie rather than hers), VOD pay-per-scene lets the customer get just what they want (the specific scene/s) and not pay for what they don't want. I think we might be very surprised to find out who the MVPs (in terms of revenue bought in) of porn really are...
Hi Derek, i read all posts and this is my conclusion: For the moment you are right! Jesse jane is must possible New queen. Monique Alexander( another possible new queen) isn't interested in this role in my opinion.. But what do you think about Stefani morgan? Now she works for Vivid but she hates its( like she writes on her forum)so In the future she will be free and in that moment she have to became the New queen. IMO Stefani Morgan has a very strong possiblity of becoming a Big Star in Porn. She is attractive with a wonderful body. Her scenes can be hot--when paired with the right co-star. And her biggest asset is her girl-next-door quality, that will make her acceptable to Mainstream media, and the general public. To put it bluntly, Stefani does not come across as a slut or sleazy. But there are some drawbacks. Stefani has only performed in a few sexvids, nor has she demonstrated an understanding of the business end of porn, so she can't fulfill the "Leader" role (from both the company and performer perspectives) that Jenna did. Stefani also seems to be questioning her decision to participate in the porn biz--which is very good for Stefani, but works against her being a "Spokesmodel" for the industry. Bottom line: Stefani, if she decides to stay in the biz, can be a very Big Star--if she can get the right management and marketing. And she will be a "future" Contender for the "Jenna Role." And, btw, I think Monique Alexander has exactly the same things going for her (and chances of assuming the "Jenna Role") as Stefani does.

Taking into consideration the "glut" of both professional and amateur porn on the internet, I think the next "Jenna Jameson" is going to be the girl who can cross back and forth between mainstream film and adult film with ease. I think the girls know this, especially the girls at Wicked, and that is why you see them showing up at events, such as mainstream movie premieres.
Really? I don't think Tera will retire soon. I think she's gunning for a Jenna Jameson type of popularity and paydays. I think Tera will be aronud in the biz for awhile and will do whatever it takes to be the top star. I think that's why she started doing anal again (supposedly for the first time) and started doing scenes with guys other than her hubby. I don't think she really wanted to do either but realized it could be hurting her sales. I predict DP from Tera in the future in an attempt to keep interest up and even interracial (as a last resort) if she felt it would help her career. Just guessing. I could be wrong.
I agree that mainstream America is ready for or wants a Belladonna type pornstar but I don't think they care about a pornstar that has different partners or does anal. As long as the pornstar carries herself in a respectable manner and doesn't brag about her sexual skills/conquets in a "vulgar" way it doesn't make much difference. Besides, most people will never see a Jenna Jameson movie. They know who she is and what she does but have no desire to watch her stuff. It's mostly about image. The next big pornstar will need an image that is just sexy enough to make people take notice but have a personality that isn't offensive to the masses. Must be able to sound like a smart, strong businesswomen and have a beauty/look that isn't too strong or "slutty". Something along the lines of that "safe" PLAYBOY mag look.
