I initially thought pissing/watersports in movies was a no no in the UK, then read somewhere solo pissing outdoors was OK but not watersports or pissing indoors.

Still I was surprised recently to see a "Pissing in nature" DVD bearing the R18 logo.

Even more surprised to discover a watersports scene in an R18 DVD!

In Viv Thomas most excellent "Sex wives and videotape" DVD, there is a scene with Ian Tate and Angie Scott where they fuck in and around a bath, at one point Angie is standing above Ian and releases a stream of piss, Ian comes closer to drink it then she briefly pisses on his cock and body.

Did the censors miss that one or am I still confused about the rules?

Note that the British Board of Film Classification passed the video version of this movie (same length) without any cuts, as can be seen here

On the BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) website, I found the following in the R18 guidelines :

=quote=

The following content is not acceptable

* any material which is in breach of the criminal law.
* material (including dialogue) likely to encourage an interest in abusive sexual activity (e.g., paedophilia, incest) which may include depictions involving adults role-playing as non-adults.
* the portrayal of any sexual activity, whether real or simulated, which involves lack of consent.
* the infliction of pain or physical harm, real or (in a sexual context) simulated. Some allowance may be made for mild consensual activity.
* any sexual threats or humiliation which do not form part of a clearly consenting role-playing game.
* the use of any form of physical restraint which prevents participants from withdrawing consent, for example, ball gags.
* penetration by any object likely to cause actual harm or associated with violence.
* activity which is degrading or dehumanising (examples include the portrayal of bestiality, necrophilia, defecation, urolagnia).

=unquote=

Obviously the scene I mentioned has "urolagnia content".

Why they find "urolagnia" degrading or dehumanising is beyond my comprehension...

Joey, you're not the only one who is confused! I recall reading that the BBFC would allow solo peeing but not peeing during sex. Just to be clear, your copy of "Sex wives and videotape" is an R18 and it has a golden shower scene? I am surprised, to say the least!

The BBFC always appear to be terribly concerned about context, which I've tended to interpret as a get-out clause for their highly subjective judgements. Another problem is that the BBFC still censor movies from the perspective that they know better than the (adult) audience, who they consider likely to copy harmful or illegal stuff etc etc.

You can pick those rules apart one by one, but let's take the case of watersports, and that all-important context. Why would clearly consensual pee-play (not an illegal act) between adults who are shown to be enjoying the act be considered degrading?

I just can't imagine Viv Thomas would risk issuing a different version of the movie after having a softer, shall we say, version rated by the BBFC, so it must mean they've seen it and either OK'd it or simply missed it. The latter seems hard to believe too.

Yes and it's right in the middle of a sex scene too!

Couldn't believe it myself, but I replayed the scene several times, it's short (15 to 20 seconds max), but it's definitely there!

Peeing outdoors is permissible, but not indoors—where most people do it in the first place?

Does that make the work of Mother Productions/Fetish Films—specifially, my belovedPeeing #14: Extreme Close-ups —illegal in the U.K. (And, Joey, did you not say once that you bought this title in a brick-and-mortar shop in London?)

I have never seen this title on sale in London. I bought this DVD in Paris while I was there on a business trip.
