This is a strange one, I bought a DVD, Girth, Wind & Fire produced by the studio, Vertigo in 2004.
When I popped the DVD into the DVD player, the scenes are pixelated (e.g. pussy, cock) just like the ones in Japanese porn.

It's silver pressed and when reflecting against the light, I can see the name of the movie on the inner ring of the DVD.
I looked up the duration of the movie and it's 24 minutes total.

For the Bonus scenes, I have to call an 888 area code to get a 5 digit number code. FYI, Didn't bother and not going to call up the 888 number.

I purchased it on ADM.com, and would I be in my rights to return the DVD, if it's pixelated, even though the DVD looks legit?

I thought maybe Vertigo were producing different version of the movie, depending if it was being sold in some states that allow hardcore or softcore, depending on the states laws.

Has anyone encountered this before with any Adult production company?

Looking at the reviews here for that title, it doesn't look like you got the regular release of the title, which runs for over 2 hours.
If the disc listing at ADM doesn't mention something about it not being the standard release and the seller's listing didn't mention it, I would return it.

Edited to add, this looks like some sort of promo release where one would get the DVD for free but ultimately pay the disc price through that number if they wanted to unlock the real content.

There was an amateur magazine back in the day that was pretty good. They had movie reviews, great cartoons, and the photos of the women were quite good, with some taken in very public places. I think it changed ownership, because the magazine changed, using professional models, and getting rid of the reviews and cartoons.

Another thing they did was wrapping the magazine in plastic and including a 'free' dvd. That dvd is just like the one shown, whereby you had to call from a landline phone to watch it. Then your phone would be billed for that call. It seems like this was the kind of video that was sent.

The DVD was factory sealed (not the heat sealed version) with the DVD artwork cover that is depicted just like in the review and on ADM.com.
The art on the disc is painted on just like any adult DVDs today.
I know there are DVDs samplers which say sample (like Evil Angel does), but there is no mentioning of sampling on the DVD disc itself. Jus the image and the regular copyright laws underneath the image.
