| petemurphy Member  226 Posts 8/01 |  Posted - Jan 21 2004 : 4:40AMI thought I was getting a good deal. I won two auctions for 5 DVDs: "LITTLE WHITE SLAVE GIRLS 1-2-3" and "SERVICE ANIMALS 13 + 14". The total was $53 including the $5 shipping and handling charge. A sweet deal , or so I thought. The DVDs arrived today. Bootleg copies! Doh! Buyer beware! I'm going to email the seller and ask if I can return the DVDs for a refund, just as soon as I cool off a little. I hope I never have to stoop to that to make ends meet. 98% of the DVDs I've bought off eBay have been fine, but that other 2% is a royal pain in the butt. I thought I was pretty good at avoiding the bootlegs, but I ignored too many warning signs with this guy. Warning sign #1: He was new, with 0 feedback. Or at least this particular identity was new. He's way too slick to be brand new to eBay. Looking at his ratings now, only one person has complained that the DVDs are copies. Everyone else seems to be well pleased with his product! Saki: I had not read your Buyer's Guide before. That's some good advice. And well written too! Scott: It appears that eBay would rather spend their time enforcing their (very loosely defined) definition of obscenity than getting rid of the bootlegs. [Link] |

Not only were those movies copies but they HAD TO HAVE BEEN bad quality copies because all 5 of those DVDs are dual layer DVDs and would have to be put through a shrinking program to fit everything on a blank DVD-R. I am very educated about both topics since I burn lots of movies and sell on Ebay BUT I NEVER combine the 2. [Link] |

I contacted the seller and he pretended to know nothing about myself buying the other 12 DVDs. I sent him a copy of the money order that he cashed, but he still refused to give me the DVDs or a refund. eBay would not do anything because the additional DVDs were not purchased on the site. The cops in the seller's area also would do nothing. They told me it was a civil matter and to sue the seller in court. Considering the seller lives in another state, I was not able to sue him. I finally gave up after trying to get a refund for 4 weeks. The only consolation was that the seller has now been kicked off of eBay because he ripped off several other people. [Link] |

I emailed the USPS tracking info showing that he had received them weeks ago. (Glad I spent the extra money for tracking!) He emailed that he's mailing me a check. (Isn't that one of the three greatest lies of all time?) I noticed that this seller isn't selling any of Jules Jordan's stuff anymore. A house without a dog or a cat is the house of a scoundrel.
