I have a few questions regarding bushdvd to see if anyone else experienced the same thing and if this is a normal wait time:

I signed up for the bushdvd 4 out at a time, last Friday and picked some titles (I live on the East coast). I figured they would be shipped by Saturday because their website states:
“All rental orders that are received by 3:00 p.m. PST are shipped that same day. We ship Monday through Saturday.”

Instead they were shipped Monday, I do not know if this is because I had just signed up or what?

Also, once they were shipped on Monday I received a set of two Wednesday and I still have not received the other set of two after the mail came today (Saturday), this being 5 days after they were shipped.

Has anyone else experienced this delay in shipment when they first singed up and over three days in between receiving videos that were shipped the same day?

Just trying to get some feedback, Thanks

I suspect that the items didn't ship out on Saturday because the staff was in Vegas for the tradeshow. I have no idea why you haven't received two of the items yet. Reps from Bush do monitor this shopping forum and I suspect you'll get a reply soon.

BushDVD has been a little slower in all aspects than normal lately. However, I have had a great experience as a member of their site over the past year and have found their customer service center to be amazing.

My experience as a first time customer with them does not correlate to your's. I had absolutely no problems. However, I have had occassions where rentals have taken extraordinarily long to arrive. I think the longest I have had to wait for an order was 7 days (not counting Sunday). That only happened once though. I usually get them in 2 days and then it takes them 2-5 (usually 3) days to get them when I return them. Also, in my experience the last couple of weeks have been the worst as far as them getting new rentals. They missed a lot of stuff over the Holidays. However, that is understandable and I trust things will pick back up now that the Holidays and AEE have passed.

I'll second Drew's guess on it being a little slow due to the trade show. It can also take a little longer for the first shipment just to get everything set up. It also sounds like you might have got some of the wonderful service of the post office. I had the same thing this week with XRent. DVD shipped out on the 4th, still hadn't seen it by the 10th. Report it and they'll normally take care of you.

Saint0453,

The reason your DVDs did not ship on Saturday was we treated the staff to a weekend in Vegas for the Adult Expo. This is the only Saturday the whole year this would happen. Probably won't happen next year.

I don't believe we received an e-mail(customerservice@bushdvd.com) or phone call(toll free - 1-877-287-4383) from you regarding the DVDs you have not received. You can also use the Report Problem link to the far right of each title in your queue. This will send us an e-mail so we can address the issue.

We automatically receive the new releases from the studios. They just don't put out much right around the show. If we are missing some you believe we should have, please let us know what they are.

I shipped 4 back on Monday and usually they would have been received on Wedesnday. This time one envelope arrived on Wednesday but the other didn't arrive till Saturday. It didn't bother me though since the company has been sooo good since I've joined.

It's been about a week since I posted. Bush has added a lot of titles, many to most of them from companies they are just beginning to carry like Doghouse Digital, since then. And a title that I had informed them about as being one they missed has now arrived, with the other I told them about apparently on its way.

So, it is picking back up. However, my shipping times are still slower than they used to be. What used to take 2 days to get to me now takes 4 (3 if I am lucky) and what used to take 3 days to get to them now apparently takes 5-6. It is kind of frustrating me but I do agree with what Timber said about not harboring any real resentment since up until now they have been absolutely stellar on all fronts. However, I am almost positive that this is the Post Office's fault and there's nothing Bush can do about it.

The main reason this is getting on my nerves is because there are a lot of titles coming out over the next month or so that I really want to see and I was hoping to get all of the Victoria Paris/Renee Larue titles off my list before that. Because of this delay (old schedule: I would have gotten a new package today; new schedule: they haven't even gotten my return package yet) that is not going to happen now and I don't have the money to go up to the 6 title option to smooth things out. If this is the new shipping pattern, I'll just have to kick my ass into gear and review the DVDs I have so I can supplement this problem with new screeners.

I'm still experiencing the same delays as well!!

But, I'm still EXTREMELY satisfied, In fact I just was informed that a total of 4 dvd's have gone missing over the last 3 months, So I also agree about the negative remarks about USPS!!....But, BushDVD always has me covered...they just replace the missing titles by sending me new ones!

I haven't seen any slowdown in them recently. If anything, they might have been getting faster!

All I know is that on the 24th they finally got a return package from me after 6 days (not counting the Sunday in-between). Today, the 25th, my other return package has apparently yet to arrive out there and today marks the 6th day. Past history tells me that since it hasn't arrived out there today at this point in the day (time wise) that means it will probably arrive tomorrow, a full week plus a non-mailing today (sunday) after I sent it back. If it doesn't arrive tomorrow? The same thing happened with my last 4 rentals and the 4 rentals before that, though I wrote that last one off as being caused by the Holidays. However, I am taking it that I can now expect this to happen everytime for me.

BushDVD has a set time for when rentals they send out should get to the customer. It says at the bottom of the e-mail notification: 2-5 days. However, I don't recall them actually have a real set time for when return packages should get to them. I thought that it depended on the region of the country you lived in, as it does to some degree for how long rentals take to get to you. I have not moved. I am still in the same city and zip code but the packages on both sides are slower than they ever used to be. Is it an anomally or is it the new way things are for me? (rhetorical)

However, I feel like I am whining because I used to get my rentals in 2 days and now it takes 4. Well, that is still in the set time they tell you to expect orders to arrive. And I imagine the possibility that maybe others are reading my message and thinking, "This guys returns take 6-7 days to get to BushDVD now and he's complaining? Mine have always taken that long. What's he complaining about?"

I don't know. I simply know that my specific order of things with BushDVD has changed recently and I am simply questioning why. It's just the post office's fault. Isn't it?

Kelly,

We do not have any &quottime" of when customers should receive their DVDs or when we should receive their returns. This is based on USPS estimates . If you walk into the post office and ask how long a letter will take to reach Florida (from San Diego), they will tell you 4-5 business days. From San Diego to Los Angeles, 1-2 business days. From San Diego to the Midwest 3-4 days. The 2-5 days is a range that covers the US.

Sincerely,

Jason

Jason-

Okay. What are the USPS estimates for how long it should take for packages to arrive back at your offices from the various regions of the nation? That is really the true source of my problem. Your packages get to me roughly like they always have, as you pointed out in your e-mail to me. It's just that my returns to you lately are taking a couple days longer than normal.

For instance, in the past I would have received a packet of 2 rentals today since they shipped 2 days ago. Mail came and there was no sign of new rentals. I assume they'll arrive tomorrow. That's just an additional day of waiting, which is not something outrageous or horrendous. On the other hand, today the return package I dropped off at the past office 7 mailing days ago has yet to apparently arrive at BushDVD. An additional day of waiting is no big deal. However, 7 days in comparison to how long it used to typically take for returns to reach Bush is a bit more than just an additional day of waiting. Should I assume they'll show up tomorrow (8 mailing days) or if not tomorrow then the day after (9 mailing days)? At which point should I stop writing it off as simply the ridiculously slow service of the post office to being concerned about a possible missing status? The two times I voiced such a concern in the past, the missing rentals arrived 7 days after being deemed "missing" the first time and 1 day after being deemed "missing" the second time.
