I just saw this banner ad for the first time touting "Lowest Prices Guaranteed!" A quick scan showed that they aren't even close. Didn't they bother to use price search before they chose to advertise on a site that offers this tool?

actually we don't allow people to advertise things that aren't true. when i talked to them about the banner they told me that their price matching policy would be posted on their site. i cannot find it there now - will discuss it with them.

Wow, they are not only promising the lowest price, they are promising 1.5x the difference (within 14 days)!

BUT... when i read the fine print, it is not as good as it sounds. It's got some pretty huge restrictions. The exclusion of sale items (and studio lines) puts a huge crimp in this policy. I could see closeout and clearance items (as that is normal with low price guarantees), but not regular sales! Sheesh!

Limitations
Does not apply to competitor's that are offering a % off across the entire company or category.

The competitor must be a legitimate company that has been in business for more than 18 months and has a selection of 500 or more adult dvd's.

The difference in price must be more than $1.

One Price match per item.

Just an update, we have removed Buy Adult DVD from Adult DVD Talk. I have been trying to contact them for the last week with no response.

I'm sure that this is unprofessional but what the hell, I'm getting really sick of getting burned by new advertisers.

Bye Adult DVD was removed from the site because they neglected to respond to a series of emails regarding advertising invoices. We cannot recommend a company that does not pay their bills.
