I once purchased two brand new Hong Kong movies on DVD. They showed a picture of the actual DVD case in the auction. It had the companies logo and everything in the listing. They were $9.99 which is more than the actual cost of a legal DVD in Hong Kong. That made me think it was an original.

I received the DVDs in the mail. They looked like originals. If you didn't know any better, you'd think they were. They had a high quality cover, case and the disc was even pressed, not a DVD-R. I'm am 100% sure though that's it's an illegal copy.

I ended up leaving negative feedback for the person because i'm a jerk. They do deserve it since they're selling pirated material and make it look original. They guy replied that it was a legit asian import. yeah right.

What sucks is that I could order a region 3 disc from Japan for $45. That's their normal price. There is no way I could sell that on ebay because a dozen or so people are selling their pirated versions instead. Sure, some people would rather know for sure it's the original if I make sure to point it out, but most people are going to go for the $10 version over one that's $20.

Some of the guys that sell only bootlegs have 10,000 positive feedbacks but like 1000 negative feedbacks but ebay doesn't do a thing it seems.

With ebay it's even more to buy copied porn I imagine. I'm pretty positive you could easily find pirated Anabolic, Evil Angel and Platinum-X titles on ebay. I wouldn't buy them myself, but i'm sure they are there. Pretty much 95% of the foreign adult items on ebay are copies. That's just the way it is with ebay. Same goes for 95% of the websites dealing with Japanese titles.

I would ask the guy to give you a refund if you return them. You could also file a complaint with paypal to get a refund if he refuses, but I think they don't let you make purchases for adult good by paypal and will ban your account. They did that to mine for a whole 2 years and I just now finally got it back!! I would definitely leave him negative feedback no matter what.

yes you can complain to ebay that the discs were a copy and possibly get the seller booted. you could also threaten the seller with this action if he didn't refund your purchase.

ebay isn't too quick about resolving disputes. Ebay really does suck and I can't understand how so many people naively do business this way. People won't go to a non-secure site and give out their credit card to buy something and yet you'll send them cash and hope they fulfill their end of the bargain. it's so naive.

Sorry if I sounded like a dick, it totally reads like I'm blaming the victim. What I have a problem with is how Ebay doesn't guarantee the transaction instead of providing an environment that allows shit like this to happen so frequently.

And to see the "mature audiences" section of Ebay, you will have to give them a credit card number.

Bottom line, unless you NEED a certain title or trust a seller, assume that you are buying a bootleg.

Didn't know xxx was available on Ebay...neither did I know Paypal isn't accepted for them.

P.S.- For the record, I just joined the bay 2 months ago today...I've spent well over $2,000USD for 28 items & have had NO problems whatsoever...even sold 3 items for $600+
