If you look at listings on ADM.com you see the following statement, "Please note that many studios have begun shifting their distribution methods for new releases and for older out of print content. Rather than pressing silver-back DVDs, it has become increasingly common for studios to burn new titles directly onto DVD-R discs to reduce production costs and speed up release timelines."

As a result of this, I won't be buying as much DVDs as I have in the past. I don't see how companies can charge DVD-R copies the same as silver-pressed DVDs.
Almost everyone can produce a copy of their own with their home equipment.
People are streaming titles now but there are titles that I would pay a little more on silver-pressed DVDs.
If companies could come out and state they are now producing their titles on DVD-R, that would help consumers like myself from buying their products.
So far, Bang, Elegant Angel, and Perv City are ones I know producing their titles now on DVD-R and expecting $13 a pop for each title.
I want to support this industry but not when I can make my own DVD-R copies.
