DeathIncarnate Member Luxembourg 54 Posts 11/99	Posted - Dec 7 1999 : 11:56AM Hi everyone ! After watching the VCA DVD version of Cafe Flesh I noticed a jump cut near the end. In fact I read that Max is killed at the end but that VCA cut it out. This seems logical since he suddenly dissappeared from screen without explanation. The ending of the film is too abrupt and seems damaged by the cut. Has anybody seen the full version and can confirm this ? Topic Moved by - Flash on Sep 7 2023 [Link]

gogo Member 80 Posts 11/99	Posted - Dec 12 1999 : 4:50PM Cafe Flesh locks up my PC based DVD player. On the rare chance that it starts, it locks up again if I try to skip chapters. Speaking of chapters, whoever indexed this DVD was an idiot. The chapters for the sex scenes begin AFTER the beginning of the vignette. Essentially, they wait until someone is about to penetrate before they mark the chapter. So you have to rewind to see the beginning of the sex scene. The disc is a nice picture disc, the packaging is great (some good photos from the archive), BUT the menu screen is a generic "VCA" logo, rather than anything artistic from the film (like a simple photo, for heaven's sake), the chapter points are stupid, and there are no previews for Rinse Dream's other films. Lame lame lame. Can't beleive this is from the same company that made SEX & SEX 2. On the plus side, the celluloid has not aged badly. Some flakes, but no worse than it's been. [Link]

The bad news is the negative is MIA and all they have to work with are prints of the film, so whether UHD will come out has yet to be decided. [Link]

Edited by - BlackSix on 3/29/2026 2:00:43 PM Click to expand the price difference sucks for sure but it sounds like amazon canada is a little more liberal with the amount of xxx they sell. i searched vinegar syndrome and actual vinegar cleaning solution came up here in the usa lol. i was hoping to get some good prices and overnight delivery on some classics from VS as i know they do great restorations of classics. there are some classic titles like the taboo series but they are all through third party sellers and are very pricy just for standard dvds on usa amazon. Click to expand that is not a bad price considering you got a uhd blu ray and booklet. what i got was just a standard 1080 blu ray and no booklet. i have a question that you or maybe someone else would know the answer to regarding the artwork on the cover. the blonde woman pictured on the cover is the lead actress correct? her hair is brunette in the film though. why is it blonde on the cover? that confused me lol [Link]
