Then there's "niche" celebrity, where you're famous in a certain field. (NASCAR, hockey, musical theater, motocross, soap operas, etc) Georges St. Pierre is as big a star in MMA fighting as Tyson was in boxing. People who follow MMA refer to him simply as "GSP". But people who don't follow MMA would not know who he is if walked up to them and gave 'em a left hook.
Same thing here: If I mention the name Asa or Katja or Sasha or Justin or Manuel, most people who read ADT instantly know who I'm talking about. If I were to bring up their names during my weekly knitting club, they probably would not.
If you follow a certain niche then you are probably familiar with the biggest names in that given field and they are celebrities to you. If you don't follow them, they are not celebrities to you.
