AND if it was all Brad Armstrong/Wicked. How come they haven't done it again? They have Stormy 1 of the hottest/coolest feature Stars around and they haven't shot her to Jenna's level. Serenity was there forever and never got to that level.

Anybody who goes back and watches "Up and Cummers" can see what made her famous. I call that thing "IT", because I can't think of a word or phrase that completely describes "IT". It's a fire, a presence, a sweetness, a charm, and more all combined. Add that "IT" to the fact I believe she treats people right and when you treat people right they treat you right back.

All you haters better hope she gets pregnant and leaves Porn, because if she doesn't and wanted to take over Porn she could. That young women could be the controller of all things Porn if she wished to.

Stern played a huge part, there's no doubt about that. The movie, the hype he caused, her many appearances. That man has 10+ million listeners a week. That has to count for something.

Gargantuan billboards plastered in Time Square and on Hollywood Blvd. certainly help with exposure too.

Serenity is a pretty big name, though. She's been all over E!. I just don't think Serenity embraced the "lifestyle" like Jenna. She didn't date rockstars (and if she did, it's definitely not public knowledge) and except for her movies and television appearances, she kept a real low profile. I don't recall her ever talking about her "conquests" Read her interview at Metal Sludge and you can see that she seems very private.

Comparing Serenity and Jenna is pointless. They're two different human beings with different priorities.

Another example of a "Jenna Phenomenon" is Jesse Jane. D.P. is practically shoving that chick down everyone's fuckin throat. Howard Stern, rock band affiliation, mainstream men's magazine layouts, dating Tommy Lee. Do we see a pattern yet?

Does she have "It". I don't think so. She has a ferocious and determined team behind. Nothing more.

I'm not a hater. I'm pretty much completely indifferent about the actual porn, but I commend Jenna for what she has accomplished after she got to a certain position. I worked damn hard to achieve what I have in my life, and I'm sure Jenna has worked 10 times harder to achieve what she has. If it was easy to do what she has done, everyone would be in her position.

Now an aside: AC, dude, you need to lighten up. Calling people haters is a little uncalled for. You take this stuff so seriously. One day you're going to give yourself a brain aneurysm.

I agree about Howard, but instead of saying his name I made the comment about her treating people right and them treating her right back.

As far as the "Haters Haters Haters" comment, I had 2 posters in mind for that. 1 who doesn't respect Jenna because every other film she did wasn't IR and the other 1 that thinks Brad Armstrong/Wicked are responsible for Jenna's success.

I agree DP is shoving their girls down our throats. They did it with Devon, but I think she had a bigger name and was more well liked when she was with Vivid. As for Jesse Jane having "IT" no is the answer. Jesse is hot, has a sexual appetite that's of the chart, and she can talk dirty like no other, BUT I can't say I've seen "IT" from her.

There are plenty of girls as pretty as Jenna with outstanding personalities. It's kind of hard to pinpoint why Jenna has done so well and other girls have not quite reached her level. The only bad thing is that for a female their fame is as fleeting as their beauty. I hope Jenna can settle into her age and doesn't do crazy plastic surgery to stave off time. I always hate when I see famous females who can't grow old with grace. They resort to all kinds of extreme behavior to keep themselves looking young.

Jenna Jameson was a very cute girl coming into porn. Check her out in early magazine spreads and in the Up and Cummer series. She had large breasts and a cute face - probably still does underneath all that vampish makeup. Better looking than others of the time? Maybe not, but near the top.

Jenna Jameson benifited from Traci Lords being on Melrose Place and some other porn stars on Showtime shows. Interview her on a show where much of the audience makes no judgements for themselves and have the host go on and on about her. Certainly white washes her dead performances.

I have only met Jenna once. She was at Blowout Video and there was a line of hundreds of people. I made the mistake of not coming early enough to the signing. Jenna signed for me and I asked her about future mainstream acting roles. Last year, I co-wrote and did research for an update of Jenna's comic book biography (Jenna Jameson/Wicked Weapon Collection #1). Reading about Jenna, looking at screenshots of Jenna's movies and looking at Jenna pictorials got me more interested in Jenna. The most recent Jenna movies that I have seen are I Dream of Jenna and Jenna Loves Rocco. Are there any Jenna movies that people would recommend as their favorites?

Vivid had all the best-looking girls, but Vivid never kept their publicists around long enough to do any substancial work. They just never cared to promote the girls as fiercely as Joy King/Wicked did with Jenna.

Today, practically any girl who signs with DP is bound to be a star. It's all about PR.

She's not one of my favourites ( but it's all personal taste isn't it ? ) but to say she's bad infront of the camera is ridiculous. Chasey, Tera...there have been many girls that look beautiful but don't fuck beautiful.

Well Jenna has positioned her self well.All the aforementioned reasons are true .Ask why Jennifer Lopez,Ricky Martin,Paris Hilton,etc are famous,key word here is PROMOTION (a tenacious well paid publicist), only Jenna does have a sweetness about her that is intoxicating, also she has that "girl I went to high school with" quality.I shot Jesse Jane over at Playboy last year.She seemed nice enough but to me she is a pre-fabricated/manufactured porn-star incarnate.I've rarely ever seen her smile...very off-putting.Jenna has a more human, non-threatening, approachable vibe which for the mainstream makes it easy to forget what a Dirty Girl she really is!!Remember too, you're as famous as you want to be as long as the public is buying it.Tic-Toc.....

You can credit this to PR, but behind it all is the brains of Jenna. Sure, she has looks, but so do many porn girls. Its how you use what you have that determines your place in porn. Who hired the PR, who chose the directors, movies, etc? She is not a puppet, although I might of thought that some time ago. She is more the puppeteer of porn, pulling the strings of the studios and fans and doing what she wants to do in her own time.

I am one of the biggest non-fans of Jenna, but I realize that her phenomena is a snowball of pop culture; she epitomizes what people associate with porn. Especially people who are not exposed to it daily or do not watch it except when they are on business trips and only are exposed to adult movies via cable versions of it at the local Marriott.

The comment about Pamela explains it perfectly prior; we were exposed and conditioned to the uber-blonde in the nineties via Howard, Playboy, Baywatch, etc. Pamela Anderson is considered by many to be the best looking chick ever; Anna Nicole came out a little before then, plus we had Jenny McCarthy, and that one porno girl named Savannah.

According to my research, Savannah died 7/11/94 by self inflicted gun shot wound.

When did jennas first movie come out? Up and Cummers 11 (1994) was one I remember... I think mainstream porn people latched on to Savannah, she passed away, and along came this bubbly, cute blonde named Jenna who fit the bill as the next 'it' thing. I can't define what 'it' is. But she has 'it' big time. A billboard in Time Square? Unreal...

The Jenna/Rocco scene is one of the better pairings I've ever watched with him, certainly in the top 10%.

My opinion is that Jenna's long-lived popularity is based on a couple of things. She's both innocent looking and sexy, much in the way of a Marilyn Monroe. She's also managed her career well, picking and choosing what she wants to do, and who with, rather than letting some agent do the picking/choosing for her. Plus, when she appears in public on TV, she's well-spoken and looks professional.

BTW, I stopped by my local township library today, and saw the Jenna's book was in the "Reserved" section. It's popular enough that people have to sign up on a waiting list to check it out to read.

Perhaps some of the other reason is the paucity of her performances . I can't think of any other girl who's worked so long but produced so few films - though maybe Julia Ann comes close . I guess the benefit is firstly to ensure they're all high quality releases - so that any new fan won't be left with a sour taste in his/her mouth - and secondly to maintain a sense of expectation among her existing fans . First rule of showbiz : always leave them wanting more .

But behind any plans or PR it always comes back to the woman herself . Which means she must be special . But hey , I'm special too , just in a slightly *different* way .

I love those types of programmes..helps you see what people are really like.

A lot of these little interviews you get before scenes are nothing but ' Hi, my name is *****, i'm 19 and i'm from ****** " and then it's straight down to the cocksucking. Other times you've got some wise guy behind the camera who seems to think he's the star and is trying to make loads of jokes that you or the talent just don't understand.

If you're gonna ask the girl something, make it worthwile..otherwise why bother ?

Thanks for the link Stemcell . After checking Jenna's house out I have just one question : why no high tech toilet ??? You know , one of those Japanese ones which both cleans up and analyses . I know that when I make my bundles of dough that'll be one of my ultimate purchases . A toilet with flashing lights : it's the only way to go !

She's one of my favourite performers ever, and she deserves it IMO - far superior to girls who are more popular in the "hardcore" crowd such as Teagan, Aurora, Belladonna etc... and also much better than similar stars such as Jenteal, R Darrian, Nikki Dial etc...
