It's my girlfriends birthday soon and she told me that she would like another porn DVD. I bought her Jenna Jameson's - The Masseuse for her birthday a while back, she liked the story and some of the scenes, there could have done with more sex scenes though - as it had more hand/blowjobs and stripping than anything else.
I also bought her Beautiful which she thought was a bit lame. I think it was the storyline more than anything though...I have to agree with her though.
So I'm after your recommendations for another one. The two key requirements however is as follows:
• No lesbian sex or at the very least just one scene if it would stop me from getting a really good film (I know this is hard to come by but that's one of her main problems with porn)
• The DVD would need to be a feature aka. one with a storyline. A good one.
Black Worm (Pulpo) - brand-new movie from a new studio, with a really good storyline (guns and drugs south of the border). One lesbian scene, though and an unfamilar cast (aside from Alektra Blue). Sex is more "natural" though - less porn-like in content.
Space Nuts (Wicked) - lots of sex, not much lesbian action, and a really funny storyline (spoofs a lot of mainstream sci-fi). Downside: may not be "serious" enough for your girl.
Dark Angels (Digital Sin) - still the best vampire-themed movie adult has done. There is a lesbian scene here, but it's a smokin' hot one (Jewel De'Nyle and Sydnee Steele).

When I come across a XXX DVD that looks promising for couple viewing (love-making, not just sex), a story line of sorts, good acting, I edit out the prerequisite lesbian scene(s)and the extended crotch shots, producing a 'couples version' of some of the better titles. I find most are ones produced in the 1980's (classics) although there are damn few of those.
When they were only on VHS tapes, I'd use the FF button on the remote (if I was still holding the remote).
In general, comedies do better than dramas. The extremes of either genre are poor candidates. And that is usually true for the best sellers (and Gonzo) also.
Of course, what's good for one person is not necessarily good for another so a 'good' couple's title is very much up to the couple. You know it when you see it - to paraphrase the judge.
I've wondered why one or two companies didn't specialize in 'editing' mainstream XXX rated films and produce something less than hard but more than soft. Then I realize it's the money (or lack of). Although the editing Cost would be low, the Revenue from Sales would probably be lower.
There are some soft-core versions of hard-core videos, but they are much like decaffeinated coffee. One that I thought was quite erotic as a 'couples' title was the soft-core version of Married Women. The hard-core version was pretty good for couples also (IMO). Then again, the story line was wife swapping, and that might be a 'couples' no-no also.
However, I just did a search and it appears that that title is out of print and not listed by any 'Used' seller.
It isn't even correctly listed in the IAFD adult film database.
Here is a very short list of other videos that I have seen that are hard-core and for which a soft-core was produced. Have no idea of their availability.
Corporate Affairs (Corporate prostitution ring - MFF scenes) Cool Sheets (Male roommates (straight) girl friend jealousy) Girls of Catalina 2 - Tiger Shark (Female PIs - one lesbian scene) Blue Jeans (Garment industry drama) Ring of Desire (Magic erotic ring that comes full circle - excuse the pun).
Also, the four (4) video series 'Passages' (1991) featuring Jennifer Stewart is a good candidate, but of course there is more than one lesbian scene. I see that 'Passages 1 & Passges 3' are available in DVD.
Thanks for your suggestions so far. May I just add though that I think my girlfriend isn't that squeamish about hardcore she might not even be fazed by a little anal action. In fact to be honest I think she thinks that hardcore is the only porn you can buy and the sofcore is just for late night TV :D
What I'm saying it hardcore isn't out of the question...but a good story-line is important I think. No Gonzo. ;)
Just found this category on AdultDVDEmpire.com, "What girls want" http://adult.dvdempire.com/Exec/v2_category.asp?userid=99365549674549&view=0&sort=3&pp=25&order=1&display=2&ref_id=&cat_id=0000152200000003 What do you think to these movies? They have no lesbian scenes and are made FOR women BY women.
Also, here's a list of all-time best sellers: http://adult.dvdempire.com/Exec/v2_category.asp?userid=99365549674549&cat_id=00000020&display=2&sort=3&order=1 and a list of current best sellers: http://adult.dvdempire.com/Exec/v2_category.asp?userid=99365549674549&cat_id=00000020&display=2&sort=2&order=1
Are there any titles in the above linksyou think could be good?
The above links did not work for me. Just took me to a general page. Does she like cute, funny stuff or drama? See if any of these are taking you in the right direction...
Zee lighter stuff - "What Are Friends For?" - there is one g/g scene, but the relationship between the main couple is warm, loving and sexy.
"1000 Words" - no g/g scene. But also no dialogue and shot partially in black and white. I LOVED IT. If your girl has any appreciation for film and telling a story exclusively with visuals, she'll like this.
Drama - "Lovers Lane" - Excellent story on this one. There's a high school reunion and a murderer's on the loose and Devinn Lane is the ain't-taking-no-shit constable who's gonna catch 'em - oh yeah - hot scenes and NO g/g!! Lane's b/g is soooo good.
"Darkside" (Red Light Films) - has a strong trippy storyline, hardcore sex (lots of group action and anal) AND Penny Flame who is a great actress. Plus it's funny in a scratch-your-head kind of way.
P.S. Which Beautiful are you talking about? It's a pretty common title
The Beautiful title I last bought is this one: http://adult.dvdempire.com/Exec/v1_item.asp?userid=99365549674549&item_id=580851&searchStrID=1527
The links I've posted above work for me. They should take you to a list of different all-time and current bestsellers couples and "what girls want" titles not individual films.
I've looked at all the DVDs you've suggested:
1000 Words Any black and white film to my girlfriend is like kryptonite :) yep all those classics are out the window. So an adult title would be the same.
Darkside Although I'd love this I've looked at a few screenshots and they seem to depict ass to mouth blowjobs which I doubt she'd be into.
Lovers Lane I've added this to my list. Thanks. :)
What does anyone else think about these mentioned here, above and any in the links above if they are working?
The way most features are going today, you are going to see some sort of ATM or hardcore sex move. There have been numerous Features done that in my opinion, could rival any hollywood movie.
These movies could interest your significant other:
The Visitors-An alien movie made by wicked
Pirates- A very high budget multi award winning pirate film
Manhunters- A movie by wicked that sort of resembles "Dog the Bounty Hunter on A&E
Supernatural- A very good ghost movie by wicked. Resembles the movie "White Noise"
Lady Scarface- a spoof of "Scarface" by adam and eve
Sacred Sin- a Decent feature by Ninn Worx that has music by eddie van halen
Pulp Friction- a spoof of "Pulp Fiction" by adam and eve
Flashpoint- A fireman flick with jenna jameson by wicked
Sex Pix- a pretty good movie by james avalon by red light district

I would guess Pirates would have more lesbian scenes than what you are looking for. If your girlfriend has a sense of humor and can stand over the top corniness I would suggest Space Nuts by Wicked. A very funny, although at times also goofy sci-fi parody with ten sex scenes no lesbian or anal.
Thanks ems_guy I'll take a look though each of your suggestions.
Thanks also to The Unknown Pervert, I've considered both pirates and Space Nuts and I agree, although it had a high budget, Pirates would have too much lesbian in it for her liking. With Space Nuts however, I'm not really convinced that a porn film can be funny (although lots of people say it is) and if it doesn't tickle her/our funny bones I think it could start to become irritating.
I think she'd like a film with a good storyline more than something to make her laugh.
or for something a little different why not try some european flavour - and, no, that doesn't necessarily mean pissing, fisting, and david perry. well, not always...
mamma is a cracking flick, with the only downsides being a lack of english dub/sub and it'll probably be a little more difficult to buy than the american porn listed so far.
something far easier to find, and with dubs if you want them would be dangerous woman (harcelement au feminen). it's released in the usa by wicked pictures so it should be relatively easy to find. in much the same vein i'd recommend dirty deals which again features laura angel sexing it up.
there's perhaps one scene of lesbo in all of these flicks put together, if my memory serves.
"Island Rain" is perfect for couples. It's about a couple having problems at home so they take separate vacations and find each other at the same hedonism island. I really liked this one. Also, Wicked Pictures is the best in this genre, there are so many. Also, check out the "Adult Stars at Home" series, pretty fun to watch.
I say you should get 'Dinner Party' starring large breated woman, I forget her name. Celeste, maybe?
Very good stuff. Also, Vanessa Chase does an amazing anal scene. I do not know why it is so amazing. I like Vanessa Chase a lot though. It just is. Classy scene, though, not rough at all. Perhaps touching even??? Movie does not focus on anal though (be aware of this if you like anal action)..It is very good stuff. Lesbians too, and all around great action, but nothing vulgar...woman will like very much!!
Plot is dinner party where women share their fantasies. Women like this. None of their fantasies involved me though! Shocking, I know this!!!! Hahahahahaha!
You thank me later!!!! I made your day much easier!!

I found this book the other day - "The X-Rated Videotape Guide" by Robert H. Rimmer. It was printed (reprinted) in 1993, but written in 1983, published in 1984 with an an up-date in 1985. It has reviews and listings of films made in the period 1970 - 1985.
Anyone familiar with this book and has there been another since then that contains reviews and listings of films made after 1985?
Rimmer had a CC classification (Collectors Choice), which when combined with a NR (Normal Romantic) or NL (Normal Laughing) or NN (Non-committed Love) notation was an indication (I think) that he thought the film might qualify as a good couples film.
For example "Autobiography of a Flea" was marked CC NN NL and "Hot Legs" was marked CC NN NR.
I THINK I'm down to three titles. What do you think of these?
The Visitors Positives: No lesbian scenes, one anal scene Negatives: Might be a bit of a dumb storyline
Supernatural Positives: No lesbian sex, storyline MIGHT be better than The Visitors Negatives: Same old missionary sex, no anal
Lovers Lane Positives: Storyline MIGHT be good, Negatives: Slight lesbian sex involved in a male female female threesome, storyline MIGHT be bad, no anal
Anyone watched Black Worm yet? Any lesbian scenes? Any good?
Thought I would try and help you out by giving you a woman's perspective. ;-) I haven't seen any of the 3 movies on your list, but after reading the reviews, I would definitely choose Lover's Lane - the plot just appeals to me the most out of the three - and, although I personally LOVE g/g scenes and it doesn't have much of that, the fact that your girlfriend doesn't would make this a good choice for that reason as well.

Check out "Yours Truly" by Wicked. One lesbian scene that you can probably just ff through. Nice, romantic and silly plotline. A well done film.
Why is your g/f so hung up about the lez sex? I can understand if it just doesn't do anything for her, but to want to completely avoid it is a bit odd, in my opinion.
I understand why she wouldn't - maybe even a glimpse of g/g would destroy the mood for her. I know my husband would be truly grossed out if he saw even a glimpse of guy/guy sex. To each his or her own...

Ain't that the truth. There are other portions of otherwise good couples videos that can cause this 'problem.' It's a very personal thing for both the male and female.
I think it's caused by the producers attempting to put a little something into each video for everyone, which I can understand from a sales point of view.
I don't recall ever viewing a video (and some of the old 1980s classics come close) that didn't contain something that would put me (us) off.
My solution is to 'preview' a good feature and then using video editing software, produce a 'personal' copy in which the offending portions have been removed. Current software has reached the point where it is possible to create a version in which it is very difficult, even impossible, to detect the editing. And if it's digital, an exact copy can be rendered, unlike the old days when the VHS tapes were analog and there was some signal loss in the process.
As long as you create this 'personal' copy from an original and do not distribute it (for free or for sale), it is not a violation of copy-right laws, the FBI warning not withstanding.
Aaahh - sounds pretty interesting...now, if we could just find a way to "edit" out all those horrible tattoos and piercings that are in vogue these days!
The Playgirl: Stripped dvd is the best selection I've heard so far for your girlfriend in this thread. Don't think you can miss with that one! Playgirl has several dvds out and they look great for someone like your girlfriend. Please let us know what you choose, and how it works out!

You can say that again (if you don't mind repeating yourself )!
If only I had an eraser function.
After lack of any semblance of plot (everything is Gonzo), it's my main reason for not even bothering to 'review' the current crop (post 1990) of videos.
Sometimes I'm able to edit out the frames that show a pierced tongue and still have enough footage to show the 'action' in a scene. But tats are almost impossible to eliminate.
I recall one scene where the tat was on the actresses lower back and it only showed when she turned over or was filmed from the back during a 'cowgirl.' I edited those parts out and thankfully the cameraman had concentrated most of his attention on her front. And a real nice (not enhanced) front it was).
Funny you'd mention this (tats). I just started trying to edit a scene in which Janey Robbin appears. 20% of the footage has Janey with her back to the camera (stripping). I'm probably going to have to leave it in, tat and all. Or edit out the entire scene.
Editing out an entire Janey Robbin scene is a sacrilege.
I can only give info on one title: "Playgirl: Stripped"
I have to totally disagree with calibooklover on the Playgirl title. Yes, there is no lez, but it includes a Randy Spears solo. I enjoyed it, but do *you* want to watch that? Plus all the Playgirl titles include this annoying voiceover. (I don't understand why they have a female narrating for porn directed towards a woman. Wouldn't it be hotter for a male to be narrating us girls through the sex scene?) There are silly slow pans away from action and a fuzzy, soft appearance plus they are sometimes lit so darkly you can't see anything. And just to make it completely unbearable, the soundtrack music drowns out most of the sex sounds. If your girl likes watching VH1 music video sex, she'll go nuts for Playgirl:Stripped. I'm a chick who is not a fan at all.
I want to see "Watching Samantha" and "Taken" just haven't gotten around to it.
Yikes - thanks for the heads up on the Playgirl films Savoy. I haven't ever seen one, was just thinking that because they are from Playgirl, they ought to be enjoyable for a woman who isn't comfortable with standard porn films. I'll have to watch one one of these days, to see for myself - but based on your comments, I think I'll rent, rather than buy - just in case!

I was thinking the same way as you when I first checked one out - that it would be enjoyable simply because it's geared towards women. Wrong. Porn is pretty new to me so it's not like I've built up a some freaky tolerance for it. It was just lame.
Robert - man, you put a lot of work into your porn consumption. I'm too lazy to do all that. I just focus my attention elsewhere or FF.
It's also been my experience that it's good to have priorities. Porn is just not on my top ten list of things that have to be done in order to make my life memorable.
ETA: Smily icons or else it could come off as bitchy...
Speaking of priorities, I need to get the fuck away from this computer..lol...have a good day!
