I wouldn't. It's less about customs and more about getting a box of rocks or magazines or something very inferior to what was promised. There used to be shops in US dealing with Chinese companies but problem has been supply. As in, you may order doll A but Doll A was discontinued and now there is Doll C which may or may not be the same. I have asked Chinese friends this same kind of question and they just kinda laugh. Production is often limited to production one-time runs. Once sold out, does not come back.
I keep hoping for success stories though. Please post if you luck out. I know the Japanese companies can run into hundreds or thousands of dollars for dolls. Out of my price range. :(
