Hi guys,

we're a new porn production in Germany, so our first DVD we produced in PAL. I would know how many people outer Europe can view PAL-DVDs ? Has anyone in US experience which that videoformat ? Are there NTSC-DVD-player which accept PAL-DVDs ?

nice regards
Daniel

Most DVD players that come in personal computers can play PAL DVD's. However, most stand-alone players sold in the USA cannot. Furthermore, most stand-alone players sold in the USA will not play DVD's that are authored for Region 2 (Europe).

People can order stand-alone DVD players from the Internet that will handle both PAL and NTSC, as well as multiple regions, but it is very difficult to find them in local stores. Essentially, unless one has an interest in watching foreign films in the original release, there is no reason to own such a player, so most stores do not carry them.

I just bought the cheap $39.99 dvd player at Walmart and it plays PAL fine. Every player I have had in the US that I have had can play them except the ones built into the television set.

Yep, I probably got the same player (but for about $10.00 less). I originally bought mine because I am into a lot of music that no one in the U.S. has ever heard of, and this allows me to buy music DVDs from overseas that are in PAL format and encoded in regions other than zero or one. I love the player 'cause it plays anything I throw into it, burned discs included. If you are in the U.S. and you want to play PAL DVDs (as well as regions 2 through 6) it's not at all difficult to find a DVD player to so.

Hey, what player is it that works for you, Wolf69 and Silverbutthunter? Is it the CyberHome 300? A DVD I ordered from funfunsex a couple years ago wouldn't play in my stand-alone, so I've been tentative about ordering anything else from overseas, but I'd LOVE to, dammit! (and I know I'm not the only one)

Thanks for any more info on the player. (...and no, I won't blame you [or anybody else with suggestions] if the player doesn't work for the DVDs I order. I'll start with cheap ones during the try-out phase....)
