Is anyone buying DVDs from the US and not getting charged by Canadian Custom when they are delivered? And if you which method of shipment are you using to get pass theses tax collectors. I had a few that got delivered to my mail box from FiveStar DVD without and charge from custom and the rest I had to pay to pick up at the post office.

Thanks

I've been using Lazersedge for single titles, value under $13 and they have got through quickly. Customs are now opening ALL packages with movie or DVD on the customs slip. They did this without putting extra staff on and before Xmas they had up to a 45 day delay on packages in the customs system. They only started this in November I think and so old rules on which packs got by may be changed. If they open up boxes and see receipts with different values than on the customs slips you'll get hit with charges. I haven't heard if the seizures are up, but I'm sure they are as that gives them the justification for all the delays they are causing and avoids charges that they are just getting around free trade with non-tariff obstacles. I know a lot of peple have given up ordering or trading across the border due to the delay's, this is with mainstream titles not XXX.

I like 5star too because of their good prices, but I have only ordered from them twice. I usually use a Canadian online store for my discs: www.dv-depot.com
They are pretty good, very honest, and it tells you if the title is in stock or not. You can also reserve a title in what they call a flexicart until you want to buy it, then you can move it to the shopping cart and check out. This flexicart holds the title for you for up to 30 days, then it gets released back into the system if you don't want to buy it, pretty cool. They also have a title request page which allows you to request certain titles to be added to their site if there's something you are looking for that they don't have. They are a little bit expensive on certain titles, but I prefer paying a little extra than to having to deal with customs.
