Does anyone know if Candystripers will be available on DVD?
It is one of my favourites but can't seem to find it on dvd anywhere.

Don't know if it's made it to DVD yet, nor how edited it might be for UK release, but it'll for sure be heavily edited in the US. There's a single-fisting, a double-fisting, banana insertion, plus a lot of talk about "young" candy stripers! It's a shame, too -- 'cause it's a very funny, and very erotic film! One of Bob Chinn's best!

I watched 800 FANTASY LANE last night on DVD.

Of course the fisting scene in that flick has been edited. They substitute the reshowing of four loops, with the original soundtrack still playing.

I'd rather just watch the uncut VHS.

Jadedvideo claims to have a dvd version of it. It most certainly is going to be edited. I feel the same way as blake_fan, I would rather just watch the uncut vhs and I will not purchase dvd's anymore that I know to be edited.

The problem much of the time is that unedited versions simply don't exist and haven't for years. Candystripers, a movie I rented in the early 80's, hasn't been released in an unedited form since the 70's if I recall correctly. Other movies were found to have juvenile performers, have damaged master tapes, etc. So the net result is that edited copies of movies are all you can get sometimes.

As far as fisting goes, is that really a turn on or do some of you simply like it for shock value? I'm curious because while I want my movies unedited too, the stuff that most companies edit is related to legal issues (fisting is considered taboo nowadays). Granted companies like Vivid seem to edit for time-perhaps to use shorter/cheaper videotapes-but that shouldn't be a problem with dvd (if you don't get a first run release of a Vivid tape, you are likely to get an edited version it seems).
