With 855 reviews, 141 interviews and 2 sex toy reviews this year, I think I am more than qualified! I will list the nominees tonight. Please feel free to let me know if I've missed anything. I believe the AVN awards is based on DVD's as well. If it's web only, I think it's not nominated (I could be wrong). I can only comment on what I'm familiar with. [Link] |

And even companies like Evil Angel are toying with web releases at this point (for example, both seasons of Voracious have been on the web before they appear on DVD). Also, while the web companies do release on DVD, those scenes are usually at least than 6 months old by the time they show up there (and I'm just talking from when they were released on the site, not when they were originally shot). I don't blame you for your list at all though, because you can't nominate what you haven't seen. I just consider it an incomplete one. [Link] |

In a normal year, this would be a tough choice. However, there is one scene that was talked about all year. In all the interviews I did since this scene was released, it came up in about half of them. If other pornstars are talking aout it, that means it was good. Adriana Chechik's Double Anal in Gangbang Me Adriana told me how emotional it was for her doing this scene. Emotional in a good way. She wants to push her limits and definitely did it in this scene. However, there is one director that is very underrated and doesn't get the recognition that he so richly deserves. He is at the helm of such great titles as Ass Factor, Rump Raiders, Orgy Masters, Bra Busters, Brother Load, Dirty Rotten Mother Fuckers, Rear View, Innternal Damnation, Young and Glamorous and his masterpiece, Oil Overload. Not to mention that he was behind the camera in all of Lisa Ann's directorial efforts. Chris Streams As you can see from the above list, he has masterpieces in all the different genres of porn. Big Asses, Big Tits, IR, MILF's, teens, orgies. You name it, he directs it. Chris is an outstanding director and he is only just getting his start. All of these releases were top shelf. I looked back through my reviews to see what I was feeling at the time. The title I chose had fantastic camera work and very nice teases. The tease portion of the scenes was different than others that you're used to. The girls are dressed in regular clothes and just look great. The cover shot of Aaliyah Love was beautiful. And each of the 5 scenes was volcanic.If this doesn't get your blood boiling, nothing will. It was directed by Mimefreak for Elegant Angel and starred Veruca James, Ashley Graham, Penny Pax, Casey Calvert and Riley Reid along with Aaliyah. Deviant appealed to the BDSM crowd with some very hot, hardcore features. Blacked.com appealed to the IR crowd. I felt they got off to a slow start but started coming on towards the end of the year. Arch Angel only started at the end of the year and every feature from them has been outstanding. But they've only had a couple of releases. Airerose started out earlier this year and released top flight entertainment again and again. I liked their Raw Talent feature for introducing us to new babes. Their Pure series is very good! In a normal year, I could see a number of these girls winning. However, this isn't a normal year. This is a year that a force of nature blew into the industry and took it by storm. Carter Cruise can do it all and she does it well. She's a very good actress, as witnessed by her various nominations in the acting categories, and also an explosive sexual performer. Meet Carter was a fantastic showcase DVD for Ms. Cruise. Truth be told, I was texting with her a few weeks before the AVN nominations came out and I told her that I thought she deserved a nomination for Performer of the Year as well. I truly feel that, she is that good of a performer. I should have had the balls to put her in my own awards as POTY but a) that would have given away the winner of this category and b) I tried to keep it like the other awards and new starlets are never put in the POTY category. However, I have to choose one and this girl is just volcanic every time I see her on screen. She can be dominant. She can be submissive. She can be aggressive. She can be passive. She can act. And that's why they should be honored and recognized for this directly, rather than in some indirect or a peripheral way. And another good reason for naming awards after various sex acts is that a lot of porn-fans are looking for specific sex-acts, when they search for a porn movie to watch. Porn-fans need to know which porn-stars and which movies are best in the category they want to watch. The best award you can give to a porn-star is increased popularity and better monetary compensation. And that's why it's important to make the awards in such a way that they are useful as recommendations for porn-fans to choose porn-stars and films to watch. When you say that some porn-star is the best new-commer, then this doesn't mean much to me in terms of the sex-acts that I want to watch. This kind of an award doesn't help me much in terms of choosing which porn-star and which film to watch. But when you say that some porn-star is the best new-commer in the anal category for example.
