It looks like Arrow may be releasing Captain Lust and the Pirate Women if they have the rights to according to this article from Adult FYI and this follow-up article from Adult FYI. I hope it happens, especially since I don't think this title has ever seen release on home video.

Flash,

I'm certain it has been released on VHS before: I have a copy of it.

And while it's certainly not the best movies ever made, it's not bad either.
Too bad they do not credit several of the cast members, and I've no idea who they are...

For those who are interested, according to this article the Arrow release is supposed to come out early this year.

Contrary to Pistol's quote in the article, CAPTAIN LUST wasn't Mitchell's second movie. She shot her first two while underage (JOY and VIOLATION OF CLAUDIA). I'm dying to see this one though! I wonder whatever happened to Beau Buchanan?

For those who are interested Captain Lust is available now from Arrow, however for some reason only ABA is carrying it right now.

By the way, why is it that Alexandria Quinn's (Buttman's Ultimate Workout) or Traci Lords' (...) underage hardcore scenes have been removed for the US market, and not Mitchell's? AFAIK, Video-X-Pix relased both films on dvd in the US.

The Traci Lords scandal was huge news at the time, and because it was a federal case, the tapes were taken off the market. I know nothing about Alexandria Quinn, perhaps that was another federal case. But something as old as a Sharon Mitchell film from 1976 or 1977 isn't much cause for concern now. I've always wondered this myself, but it probably has to do with the pre-1995 record-keeping law. None of these films have to present records showing the age of the performers. Jean Jennings was another underage star of the 70s (she was 16, not 17!) whose films are readily available (DEFIANCE, VIRGIN DREAMS, SHARON). And I'm sure there are a few others we don't know about from this time period. C.J. Laing began performing on-stage at 15, who knows how old she was when she started doing films.
