I'm after some classic dvds from the 70s/80s. I've noticed that fivestardvd has a sale on Carabello titles, and I wondered if any of them were any good.

I'm quite interested in movies with Kay parker. Has anyone seen Private Teacher?

Also, what are people's opinions on other Kay Parker movies (Taboo, Vista Valley)?

The taboo incestuous subject matter seems quite a turn-on, but I don't know if it will be when I actually see the movies.

I've heard nothing but bad things about the quality of Caballero titles. If you're interested in Kay Parker movies try checking out Nutech's line of classic discs. I've seen a few of Nutech's classic titles and they have always had decent picture quality.

Curious, If you're a Kay Parker fan, then you'll want to get Taboo over Vista Valley P.T.A. She's good in both movies, but you get the most for your Kay Parker dollar with Taboo. She's got four scenes in it and only one in Vista Valley. I reviewed--and liked--them both, so either one's a good choice in my opinion.

I agree with what Diville says about both TABOO and VISTA VALLEY PTA . For an "old" movie, this feature beats a lot of the newer videos flooding the market. NuTech does excellent DVD transfers of these classics.

By the way, Diville wrote an excellent review of VVPTA on this site...really great reading!

Caballero makes pretty poor DVDs. Most of them I've seen don't even have a time code. NuTech's stuff that I've seen has been pretty good. The transfer appears very good and the movies aren't edited that I know of.

Speaking of Caballero, does anyone know of any plans for them to remaster the Andrew Blake movies: SECRETS, NIGHT TRIPS, NIGHT TRIPS 2 and HOUSE OF DREAMS?

Diesel-

Recently we suggested to Caballero that they re-issue Collector Editions of their classic Andrew Blake discs. We explained that there would be a great deal of consumer interest if these titles they were remastered with high quality transfers.

Although Caballero was open to this idea, they seemed skeptical that there would be enough demand to justify remastering. Surprisingly, Caballero claimed that they have received very little feedback about the quaility of their discs. We took that opportunity to go into great length pointing out all of the criticisms of Caballero DVDs including poor transfers, lack of features, missing time code, etc.

At this point, our feeling is that Caballero probably won't make any imporvements to the Blake titles unless they are convinced that there is enough demand to justify the expense of remastering. We would suggest to other retailers that they lobby Caballero along these lines. Also, we'll try to find out if there is an email adresss at Caballero where consumers can send their comments.

Diesel, is there any chance that Diesel's Den would get involved in supporting this effort?

Hi, Ken!

Thanks for the information regarding Caballero. I would be more than happy to help encourage a new and proper re-release of those titles. I guess that the studio does not read reviews of their titles.

Other companies like Adam & Eve (specifically Jeff Krull who took enough notice of critical reaction to begin work on newer, special editions of THE DINNER PARTY among other Grant movies) and Private apparently do take the time to read and respond to criticism, so I guess that Blake fans are going to have to take a more active approach to demanding improvement from Caballero.

I will see what I can do. I once talked to Mr. Blake about his past work under control by Caballero, and he gentlemanly chose not to comment, stating that he would let the past remain in the past. It's too bad he can't re-release them under his Studio A label.

But I am glad that Mr. Graham cared enough to put in an inquiry! I want to see these movies in all their true digital glory also!

Ken - I received a very similar response from Caballero about 5 months ago. I did send them all reviews of their DVDs on Adult DVD Talk. So they do have the feedback.

Ken, thanks for bringing it up with Caballero. Please post the e-mail address when you find it so that we can show a little more support for a CE of Andrew Blake's works.
