Therefore any studio wishing to create a virtual likeness of the performer would need the approval of the owner of said entity and I can't see too many performer willing to do that without financial compensation. Removing condoms visually from an actor leaves you with a great amount of work (in order to make it look realistic). You’d have to either shoot it in a specialized studio to get all the movements as motion capture, or you need some match move artists that deduce the movements from the shot footage. You'd have to model both the male and the female actors because things are going to disappear either in orifices or behind limbs, so calculating what is visible and what is not has to be done. After that you model your 'hero' dick onto the actor, with the correct lighting, textures and coloring. This is not a job for one person, especially if you want it to look realistic. And that isn’t done in a few hours. Typical movie CGI sequences are a few seconds short and take dedicated animators days if not weeks. Given that the complexity of a porn shoot is somewhat less overwhelming than a battle sequence of hundreds of space ships, it is still not doable within the money constraints of a typical gonzo shoot where you pay the crew and cast for a day, and later on the editor(s)—things you’d have to pay for anyway, but with the added cost of the animators. Mind you that movie making with all the CGI hasn’t helped making movies cheaper. And actor’s salaries are not the main issue here (simply think of the two new Avengers movies put together which will have a production budget of over one billion USD). Doing completely CGI porn is another thing: a) you’d have to have it look realistic (a feat not really achieved in motion pictures yet, so how should that function in porn?), b) you'd have to animate it by hand, and this is where it really gets expensive. You’ll be paying 10-20 times the amount of people 10-2 hex (or significantly more) the time of a porn shoot to animate something you’d have to come up beforehand shot-by-shot (or you'd have to pay someone else to do it). And it would still look fake, because the technology isn’t there yet. [Link] |
