We're having some private conversations among a few members and moderators. The idea of changing the Gay DVD Talk forum into an LGBTQ+ forum came up as part of the discussion. I thought it would be good to solicit feedback from the community before making any kinds of decisions.

Do you have any thoughts you would like to share? Good idea, not so good?

I think that if the forum were actively moderated it would be a good idea. Otherwise, it may end up being a target of opportunity for the intolerant.

Also, would some/all of the forum moderators need to be members of the LGBTQ community themselves?

Sounds good to me, although I personally prefer the old school term Queer as a catchall but I'm happy to go along with what the kids are digging these days.

Just my opinion, but no. The site is called adultdvdtalk. A forum should be about gay dvd talk (not that anyone uses DVDs any longer). There are plenty of other forums online for the LGBTQ+ community to discuss serious issues. This forum should be about what kink we all like to watch.

There's way too little porn chat I'm this forum as it is compared to the straight forums. Why is that? Are members of the LGBTQ community less likely to enjoy porn and discuss it with other fans?

Because we don't really have a place to post queer and trans porn.
I really don't know where to post stuff like Hardwerk.com , vids from Pinklabel.tv, or my post on the San Francisco Porn Film Festival.
Hardwerk.com is a queer gangbang site that's more women-centric than gay. With a strong focus on the female with men using each other as fluffers and guys making out.
Pinklabel.tv has mostly queer and lesbian porn, I always feel weird posting stuff from crashpad.com on the AllThingsLesbain thread because most people there aren't into the women on a site like crashpad.com.
