I just read Kylie's interview in the Feb. 2000 issue of "Hustler Erotic Video Guide." It's short (2 pages) but she talks a little about her gig as VCA publicist and her upcoming movie, Pornography. Well, here's my two cent's worth (and how cool that the chat is on my 23rd birthday). Anyway... 1) What attracts you or turns you away from the films you do (or do not do)? 2) How did your parents/family react when they learned of your career? 3) How do you feel about the new trend in interactive films (ie Virtual Jenna, Virtual Nikki....), and do you think they will have a lasting impact on the industry? 4) You probably get this one a lot, but are there performers in the industry that you prefer working with? 5) On your website you talk about how hard it is for someone (particularly men) to get into the industry as performers, but what about getting in working behind the scenes on the technical end? Here are my (hopefully interesting) questions for the pool: If you could magically change one aspect of the adult industry, what would it be and why? Can you think of one particular project or point in your career that you'll always look back and remember fondly? What is your take on DVD? Do you feel that the format is challenging the studios to improve their products for digital distribution or are videotapes still the driving factor? Until recently, VCA has taken a marketing backseat to companies such as Vivid and Wicked. As VCA's publicist, what directions are you taking the company to overcome this gap? Over the past few years, we have seen quite a few girls who have enjoyed long and rewarding careers (including yourself) or have made successful comebacks (Christy Canyon, Danielle Rogers, Marilyn Chambers, and Ginger Lynn to name a few). This much different from the past when nearly all long-term careers in the business were enjoyed by men. Why do you think we're seeing women in the business longer than we used to? 1) What trends do you see emerging in adult movies at the present time? With the rise of anal scenes in recent years, and other gradual shifts, I was wondering if you had an insight into the next trends we will be seeing. 2) Here on Adult DVD Talk, we have had some very lively discussions about the performers, and the topic of boob jobs has surfaced a couple times. I was wondering if you see the prevalence of boob jobs as driven by the actresses' wishes, or as a result of industry expectation. In short, do you find that people get them because they want them, or because they think they'll be better at their job with them? 3) With your extremely hectic schedule, I am sure that you meet hundreds, if not thousands, of your fans every year. Do you have anything off the top of your head that you remember a fan saying or presenting you with that you remember as extraordinarily nice (no, I am not looking for hints)? 4) What was your biggest concern going into this business? 5) Would you consider doing a commentary track for a future DVD release? Hi Kylie. 1) There are rumors floating around about VCA making huge changes to its stable. Rumor is that you, Vicca and Nikita, and other girls are leaving VCA as soon as your contracts are up. Juli Ashton is reportedly the only one planning on staying around. Director Michael Ninn is also supposedly leaving. Can you confirm or deny these rumors? 2) Do you have any info on the upcoming Ninn film featuring Nikita? When will it be released, etc.? 3) Finally, some girls in the business have HUGE followings on the Internet that they by all appearances are not even aware of. Take Nikki Dial for example. She has two Usenet newsgroups devoted to her, a couple IRC chat channels (with regularly weekly scheduled chats), and about half a dozen fan websites. She, and other girls with similar fan bases on the 'net, could be milking this for big buck$. Is there any talk in the business about more effectively bridging that gap between the girls, their fans, and the money they want to throw at them? Thanks.
