Got a strange email tonight from Cheapo Dvd. I've never done business with them before & have never gotten an email from them (even though the email said I was a "member"). I've got a suspicion that they are owned by Dvd Advantage. The email from Cheapo was sent to an email account that I haven't used for almost a year. The only store that uses that address for me is-you guessed it-Dvd Advantage & I cannot imagine Dvd Advantage giving out my email to a competitor. I don't know when Cheapo disappeared from the ADT price search or what the story was. The email I got was offering a weekend "members only" special-very similar to what Dvd Advantage often does. Just curious. Has anyone else heard from Cheapo?
I received the same email today too. I generally delete those types of emails as a reflex action.
I'm not sure what the relationship is between Cheapo and Advantage. I know that Advantage sells wholesale to a number of brick and mortar and other online retailers. I suspect that it's something along those lines.
We removed Cheapo from the price search for technical reasons. Steph and I were having an incredibly difficult time maintaining their listings due to the way they managed the items that they had for sale on their site. The product selection changed drastically on a very regular basis which made maintenance a problem for us.

One question still remains, how did Cheapo get this email address? It's an old address that I formerly used strictly for ordering dvd's, nothing else. Only stores that I deal with had it & Advantage is the only store that still uses it.
For anyone int'd, the Cheapo 20% off coupon code is Cheapo20 (must be used this weekend).
anyone have an address for this "place of business" besides cheapo@cheapodvd.com? I had what I considered to be a major problem with my one and only order that I placed with them and am unable to get in contact with anyone there. I have only found that one address on their website and have not heard a response back from them, despite about 5 different emails to them. I would definately think twice about placing an order from them ever, despite what any of their prices and coupons may do for you.
When you asked for an address I assumed you were looking for a mailing address or a physical address. I dind't realize you want an email address. Sorry. Can't help you there.
Hey Jasondaub, what was the problem with Cheapo dvd? I have never purchased through them, but have considered it. But, if you have had problems, I guess I could shop else where as we all know that missing, scratched and scuffed disks is not too cool.
No, it had nothing to do with the quality of the disk. It was my first order (and probably last) with them, and it had to do with them cancelling part of my order, leaving with with a $10 shipping charge for a $10 dvd, and me having no clue why the item was cancelled, especially after I see it is still available to be ordered off of their site. It's been 3 days short of a month now, and I have still heard nothing back from them, despite the messages going through. I have no idea what they are doing with them, but I guess it's time for me too start sending them more often than once every other day or so, like every minute or so until they get back to me. Good luck if you order from them and need any customer service, I have lived and learned.
There is generally a phone number on your credit card statement along with the charges. If there isn't you might be able to get one through your credit card company. Give them a call.
They finally got my emails and got back to me. They apologized for everything and more than made good for the problem I experienced. It seems like I would be willing to give them another try, especially if their prices are in line or under other places.
