She played a major role in the in the classic "Gamesters of Triskelion" episode and also had a recurring role on Get Smart before making a handful of adult films 15 years or so later (notably Titillation). She even used her real name.

Ginger Lynn appeared in some episodes of the sci-fi tv show SuperForce. Ginger also starred in Young Guns 2.

R. Bolla (well-known porn star in the 1980s I think it was) had a small role in the movie Spider-Man (with Tobey McGuire and Willem Defoe). He was the captain on that boat (tow boat?) in the scene where Spider-Man had to choose between saving Mary Jane or all of those children.

Ron Jeremy has starred in some mainstream (though not well-known) movies.

Jack Baker (the late black porn star who starred in New Wave Hookers) was featured in the mainstream movie, Kentucky Fried Movie. IIRC, he also appeared on the tv show Happy Days (not really sure about this part--don't quote me).

I think Jamie Gillis was featured in at least one mainstream movie (possibly Nighthawks with Sylvester Stallone, not at all sure if this was one of the movies).

Jenna Jameson was in Howard Stern's Private Parts.

Jill Kelly (and another white female porn star whose name I can't remember) was in He Got Game with Denzel Washington.

Nina Hartley was in Boogie Nights with Burt Reynolds.

Rocco Siffredi has appeared in mainstream European movies.

Marilyn Chambers has starred in many made-for-tv movies on at least one cable channel.

I'm not sure if he would qualify, but I read here at ADT that the son of one of the Smothers Brothers is starring in a porn movie.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Also the scene in He Got Game that featured Chasey Lain and Jill Kelly was with NBA player Ray Allen. Denzel however was not left out in that he got to snuggle with Milla Jovovich.

Someone mentioned Traci Lords and she has done lots of movies but I guess the best known is Blade. She has also done an album ans sings on some well known artists songs like Manic Street Preachers "Little Baby Nothing" and Ramones cover of "Somebody To Love".

Dyanna Lauren & Kobe Tai sings backup on Marilyn Mansons song "New Model No. 15" on the Mechanical Animals album.

The other way around is less common, but still not too rare. In Europe there is Karin Schubert, who played in films in the 60s and 70s opposite the likes of Richard Burton and Louis De Funès and who turned to hardcore porn in the 80s. There is also Lili Carati in Italy. Actresses doing hardcore sex scenes in mainstream films is also a possibility: Maruschka Detmers for instance.
And of course some minor celebreties of local significance only. (I suppose nobody of you have heard of Danny Fabri Jr.).

R. Bolla can lay claim to much more than just Spider-Man . At the end of the 70s/early 80s, he had the lead in some legendary Italian shlock horrorfilms. He was credited as Robert Kerman in the legendary or infamous Cannibal Holocaust , the only film to which I have given 2 different ratings in my database, the lowest and the highest. The success of this film gave birth to "sequels": Eaten Alive and Cannibal Ferox .

Speaking of infamous cult classics, check out Fred Lincoln aka F.J. Lincoln in Wes Craven's Last House on the Left . He even gets his dick bitten off at the end of the movie. Uhmm, I did spoil it now, didn't I?

Anyway, there are more, I am sure. In RAME there is thread about an alledged home movie with hardcore action by Neve Campbell, a unidentified male and a female porn star, which may be or may not be Kaitlyn Ashley. And of course, who can forget Tonya Harding in Tonya & Jeff’s Wedding Night ? I wish I could.

Italian actress Valentine Demy, who I remember from starring in a few Joe D'Amato b-movies like Dirty Love, 11 Days 11 Nights Part 3, etc., started doing some hardcore in the early '90s.

Titles include "LOLITA FOREVER (1991) and "THE NIRVANAL PROJECT" (1998). There are a few others. Check her list at IMDB for more.

Would like to get at least one title of her in action, however only one I could see is "The nirvanal project" listed at a few of the French sites. May get it sometime.
