What is the best lube for anal sex and where can I get it? We've tried Petroleum Jelly, Petroleum Liquid, and this stuff called Moist and my girlfriend doesn't like any of them! Recommendations please!!! And please don't forget to let me know where you can get it too!

Beaver,
Astrolube, and just plain K&Y Jelly has worked for me.
Astrolube I'm not sure where to direct you, but K&Y is available in any drugstore.
Beaver, I agree with DD's rec for KY. What's more, most drug stores carry "generic equivalents" that are downright cheap and work just as well. Believe me on this one, lots of practice!
From extensive research and testing...my recomendations for anal lube are as follows:
#1 Probe! Expensive, yes...but it stays slick and won't harm condoms like petrolium jelly or crisco. Probe works for toys and penis/anal sex very well. Also works for anal fisting, but considering the ammount you need to use, it can get costly.
#2 Wet Platinum Also expensive but silicone based and lasts longer. Not good for use with silicone toys unless you cover them with a condom. Also not very goood for fisting.
#3 Crisco This works great for anal fisting, not fucking. Crisco can break down latex over time so it really dosen't work for penis/anal sex, however it won't seriously deteriorate latex or synthetic gloves enough to prevent it's use for anal fisting. DO NOT USE CRISCO FOR VAGINAL FISTING! The ensuing infections are gonna be hell.
That's my list. The other lubes break down and liquify too fast to reall be good for anal sex, unless you like a dry raw fuck. (and I am sure there are those who do.)
As a woman who loves receiving anal sex, I recommend that you consider investing in a nice, thick, gelatinous lube. I haven't tried the ones suggested by blklthrjkt, but my personal favorites are Maximus and Slippery Stuff Gel (Slippery Stuff also comes in a liquid, but for anal play, the gel is probably better). You can find these online at AdultDVDTalk's affiliates, which are stores that are normally well screened for quality products and customer service. Try the sextoy page for more information. I know both Slippery Stuff Gel and Maximus are available at Toys in Babeland, for example. Good Vibrations and Blowfish are not affiliates, but I've ordered from them before and can vouch for their reliability. They both carry a good selection of lubes (including the ones I recommend), plus nifty little sampler packs with trial sizes for you to experiment with. Hope this helps.
Thanks Yogogrrl. I am really more interested in women's opinions on this matter (no offense to the guys) since she is the one receiving. Most men will be happy with anything that will work. But I want my girlfriend to be comfortable and enjoy it as well. I will check into the ones you suggested. If any other WOMEN would like to express their opinion I would greatly appreciate it!

Beaver,
No offense taken. I put my comments based upon the receiver , and not just me. As you say that is the one whose opinion is probably most valid.
I do want to add, though, that both Probe and Wet Platinum (the lubes suggested by blklthrjkt) have excellent reputations as anal lubes. The only reason I haven't tried them is that I tried Slippery Stuff Gel and Maximus first, and I was so satisfied that I didn't feel the need to explore futher. You might wish to consider the lube sampler from Blowfish, since that would allow you to do a comparison test of Maximus, Wet Platinum two versions of Probe. (I just love this kind of experimentation!)
I've tried Astroglide, BTW, and it was much too thin for my taste. Some people like it that way, however.

I love Wet Platinum. I've never tried Maximus or Probe, so I can't give any feedback on those.
I've tend to find that KY gets kind of sticky, but if the others seem too expensive, I would recommend that KY is the best of the lesser expensive type lubes (and KY comes in both a gel and a liquid).
Lately, I've fallen in love with a lube called Eros. It seems to be the new favorite in the adult business too.
Most of these can be found at a normal adult bookstore, or as suggested above, at various online novelty retailers.
Thanks again everyone for all the helpful information. I just ordered some Slippery Stuff Gel and will start with that. It has nothing but positive reviews everywhere I've looked! The main problem with the ones we've tried so far are they get sticky & dry up too quickly. Hopefully this one will do the trick! If not, Wet Platinum & Maximus are next on my list! Thanks again.

That´s the problem with KY, but at least it´s a water-based product.
I wouldn´t reccomend petroleum-based lubes, cause they may cause rupture of the condom.

Tricia,
Agree that KY tends to get sticky, especially since it it water-based. I found that it helps to just keep the tube handy and keep applying a little more each time it gets 'sticky'.
Not trying to be cheeky or humorous, but it was a practical solution.

In fact, that´s more usual than you think. Back in those days when I was directing porn movies so low-budget that KY was the only way to go, there were some pauses mid-shoot to add more KY to the, uh, procedures. Even during real-life sex, that sort of thing happens a lot.
(BTW, I once worked with a producer so fucking cheap and lazy, that instead of going out and buying a tube of KY, he tried to lure the performers into doing an anal scene with OLIVE OIL!!!)
If you are in a monogamous relationship and you are both disease free I say human saliva does a grrreat job. If this isn't the case I would say use a good silicone based lube (don't use this on a slicone toy though...may cause damage) or if you don't like the residue of silicone I found that Love Jam's Spring Water Lube is pretty kick ass.
This is just my humble opinion as an experienced bottom (both toys and men). Just remember...you can never use too much!
Saliva always works good for me. Anything else seems so artificial and out of place. There's no bigger turn off than breaking out the lube bottle in the heat of the moment.
I have found that the ultimate combination is to use a thin smearing of an oil based product (such as vaseline) over my huge throbbing gristlestick (ahem) and then a silicone based lube (Wet Platinum or ID Millenium) or Maximus (which YG recommended to me and is remarkably good for a water-based product).
Without wanting to seem like I'm agreeing with everybody though, I must also nod to Masons' comment that saliva, (mixed with a helping of pussy juice, if possible) is the most spontaneous. I find though, that sometimes my saliva is a little too watery to lubricate well whereas other times it has better viscous properties.
I'll second you on that one Sir Noel. When I play with my dear spouse, we use a good dollop of vaseline to get things started, and then add a water-based thin lubricant like WET Original, or possibly a silicone-based one - or even spit. The vaseline makes sure that the other lubricant is not absorbed into the skin or evaporates too quickly, so it prevents damage. Vaseline on its own, however, does not relieve friction well enough. Add some thinner stuff to it, and things go more smoothly.
The annoying thing about vaseline, though, is that cleanup afterwards is more difficult. You feel like you have whipped cream in your buttcrack for a day after, sometimes ;)
Karlwikman wrote:I couldn't comment on this myself. Having never smothered my buttcrack with whipped cream (or indeed single, double or clotted cream) this is an experience I am not familiar with
My favorite lube for anal sex was by a company called "Westwood," if I read the small print correctly. Unfornutely, the drugstore where I used to buy it has closed, leaving me high and dry. It came in a small bottle labelled "personal lubricant," but the little bottle lasted a long, long time. Never dried out during the act. If anybone can tell me how I can get this product again, I would be forerver grateful
Spit and/or pussyjuice. We do use ID Glide (we got a 70.5 oz. tub of it when my husband surprised me with my Sybian for my birthday last year) sometimes. Mainly when he sneak attacks me somewhere like the kitchen, etc.
