OK - starting a new thread - when Endorphin started making cliff notes for the previous thread, i figured that was my cue.

Name / Logo
The awards will be known as the WADs unless someone has a better name. We will need some kind of logo for the awards as well as a graphical trophy - something that the winners can place on their site. If you are interested in assisting the WADs with your design skills please contact me at webmaster@adultdvdtalk.com

Getting Other Sites Involved
We're in the process of contacting other adult DVD review sites to make this a collaberative effort. We'll keep you posted on who's participating. So far it's us, Rog of DVD Porn Reviews (and also of Rog Reviews), StunningCurves, Snowman, and RAME.

Voting Processes
There will be two separate voting processes. There will be a few categories that are voted for by everyone - everyone's vote counts equally (category suggestions below.) Then there will be a few categories that are voted for by a panel of judges. These judges will come from the various sites involved. The popular vote will also count as a couple of judges. The purpose of having the judges is so that we can make sure that the judges have seen every movie nominated.

Nomination Proccesses
The nominations will come from all of you. We will have a means to make nominations on all sites involved - or we will create a separate site just for this.

Categories
Here's where we could really use some feedback. We do not want to have any star specific or company specific awards. We were thinking of the following categories for the popular vote:
Best Overall DVD
Best Spanking Material on DVD (needs better name)
Best Gay DVD

and for the judges/popular vote categories we were thinking:
Best Feature Film on DVD
Best All Sex DVD
Best Overall DVD
Best DVD Extras Package
Best Interactive DVD (this one we're not sure about because it essentially comes down to favorite star on an interactive DVD - thoughts?)

We don't want to have any more categories than this, unless it is an essential category that we're missing. This first awards will include all DVDs to date (we will set a cutoff date.) In the future we will limit it to DVDs released that year.

The Show
We're hoping to host the show on an internet radio station. We'd like to have various stars announce the different awards - but we will not have a star announce in a category where they are in one of the nominated movies. We're shooting for mid-February. We have some ideas to make the show fun, but are very open to suggestions.

I will let everyone know what we may need volunteers for. The first need is a designer. As this is a non-profit event it will be 100% volunteer driven. Thanks for all your feedback and please keep it coming.

In the past, I've always heard spanking material as 'raincoater features'. I kind of like referring to it as spanking or wanking material just out of honesty.

Like the name, and the idea of keeping the awards down to a select few (again in contrast to some other awards, where there's so many categories & nominees). This will make them all the more coveted. The process seems to be as fair as it can get as well.
I can hardly speak for the gay community, but it seems like a slight to keep them out of the top categories to make room for "Best Interactive", which in my opinion are a novelty at best,
and will be judged purely for whichever star is in them.
And yes, the "Spanking" award should be renamed, as some might confuse with the fetish genre. What, you didn't want to name it "Best Jerk-Off DVD"? lol DB

The Popular Vote status of the Best Gay DVD award is not intended to be a slight and wasn't left out of the judged category to because there wasn't room. It was left out because the panel of judges are all straight. It would be unfair (and unrealistic) for a panel of straight people to pick the Best Gay DVD.

Can I be the Ass Liking Judge ?

Like I pick the best flicks with juicy asses?

Mostly Evil Angel runs supreme in this catergory..but good ass everyone loves.

Especially when the ass has that bouncy cheeky look.

Do you mean spanking, like spanking the monkey or like "...brand spanking new" or "she's getting spanked!". If you are referring to the first example, I would call it best raincoater.

I think this process is the most fair way while keeping it legitimate.

After all those cool logos from the logo contest, I can't wait what you artists will come up with!
