Ever since their invention, breast implants have been a hot button topic, especially at this message board/forum. We have heard, time and time again, what the detractors have to say but rarely do we hear about the advantages of augmentation mammoplasty, of which there are many, as I’m sure many women with them can tell you. Now an implant isn’t exactly a zygote but the decision, and I hate to liken it to this, isn’t very far from abortion. It’s her body, her choice. And for those who are in support of women giving themselves a psychological and physical boost through this surgery, I present:

I'm not sure if that was a genuine defense of breast enlargements or an exercise in sustained irony but, either way, I want to take issue with one point:While I agree with this argument in the case of abortion, it seems to me that what a pornstar does that distinguishes her from the ordinary woman is precisely to surrender some portion of her rights over her own body, to hand some of the choices she can make with regards to that body over to others, to make her body, her sexuality, etc into something more like public property (all done in return for a substantial financial reward of course).
In fact we see this precisely in the case of boob jobs: only a minority of girls, I would say, do it for themselves, most do it for the sake of their careers; they do it exactly because they believe this is the sort of body fans, producers etc want to see; they are letting other people influence the choices they make over their own body.
Those who prefer fake-breasted women with cartoon figures already dictate too much the choices porngirls make over their bodies. Those who prefer women with natural shapes have a right to voice their opinions on the issue.
I blame time. We are at a stage where it is still incredibly easy to tell fake from real. In a decade, if 3M and Dow Corning get off their asses, maybe fake = real. That'd throw out all that mind baggage out the window.
I predict the key will be using more natural materials, and they'll no longer be called implants because the procedure will be radically different, certianly more elegant than plugging sacks under the skin, maybe using nanotech at a cellular level.
You're an astute one. Anyone who knows me, knows which this was (genuine defense or sustained irony?) and your last statement (discussion not being dead) is precisely the point. There's truth in nearly everything I touch upon up there, on both sides, but there are some things written up there I know you can't honestly believe *I* wholeheartedly and completely agree with; those things were said speaking from a "pornstar" mindset, using some reasons I've heard to justify their decision. Some statements I thought were very obviously tongue-in-cheek. I was having a little fun.
I'm not against implants at all but I'm not a BLIND supporter, either.

The only thing I agree with is that it's their bodies and their decisions. Everything else is strictly a matter of opinion, and we all know about the nature of opinions.
Wait a minute. What are "The Best of the Rest?" or should I say "The Breast of the Rest?"
I love that show. My favorite is "Top 5 Reasons You Can't Blame The Atlanta Falcons for trading Brett Favre" in which all five reasons were....Brett Favre. Why don't they release those on DVD?
I'm all for women getting implants to boost their careers in the sex industry or just for personal reasons if that's what they want to do. It's always her choice and I would never "blame" a pornstar for getting bigger tits but one thing that makes me flip is when a pornstar gets them and she doesn't NEED them. I think I read that Tera Patrick got implants at some point. I'm not really a fan of hers but I do acknowledge that she had some pretty perfect, natural tits. I could be wrong but I think I also heard that Lacey Duvalle got implants. I just don't see why you would mess with perfection. Next thing you know I'll be hearing that Candace Von or Belladonna got some new girls.
Another thing that bothers me is when pornstars get poorly constructed implants. I don't know much about it but it seems to me that if Jada Fire can get 'em and reasonably retain the look of natural breasts then so could anyone else. Why would you go for stuffing basketballs into your chest?

What with bad make-up and disappearing pubic hair running rampant in the industry, bolt-ons are getting us that much closer to what seems to be an ideal for some guys: the living blow-up doll.
I do think this is way more of an American thing. Euro girls don't insult their bodies this way so much, fortunately.
big fake tits just don't appeal to me. the girls can do whatever makes them happy. but if one of my fave stars gets her boobs done, i stop checking out her new scenes. the silicone is a turn-off for me, sorry
I certainly, don't know enough about the business to know whether a girl getting implants is good for her career or not. So I can only base my opnions on what I like. For example I would be disappointed if a girl like avy scott got new tits. And she seems to be able to satisfy a good amout of your five reasons, with just her naturals. For some girls their marketing point is they have breast as BIG as fakies but they are all natural. Also, there seems to be fewer girls opting for breast implatns as opposed to lets say in the mid 90's, that also says something I think. That said, I again wouldn't blame a star for new tits, but in some instances I wouldn't help but feel disappointed.
Of course it's the choice of the pornstar. If it makes her feel more attractive and makes her feel more accepted, then I have no qualms at all. From a personal POV, however, I'm definately not a fan of breast enlargement because I know that the breasts are no longer 100% natural and that's a definate turn-off for me. This debate will never end. As with most things it all boils down to tastes and opinions. There are people who will never like breast implants simply because they don't like the very idea of implants. That's perfectly okay but what I don't like is when those people try to justify their tastes/opinion with statements like "All implants look horrible...", "She ruined her body...", "She was pressured into getting them...", "No guys really like implants...", "they're ruining porn..." or to imply that people who like them must be be sick or somehow don't know what looks good. Those statements simply aren't always true. If a person doesn't like them that's fine and reason enough but when they try and justify it with that other nonsense is when I find it annoying. Every boob job isn't "horrible" and in fact from what I see today more often than not they look okay. There are some stars that have them that unless you know they had them done you really couldn't tell. I call it the "toupee theory". There are people who would watch an actor with a toupee for years and never realize that actor wore one. Then suddenly when it's pointed out to them they suddenly can't stop talking about that actor with the "bad rug", "dead animal" on their head or whatever lame jokes they use and suddenly can't understand how everyone doesn't seem to know it's "obvious" that actor is wearing a piece. Totally/convieniently forgetting that before it was pointed out to them they had no clue. Really guys...Personally not liking breast impalnts is perfectly reasonable and okay in and of itself but some of the rationale some of you come up with to justify your taste just comes off as silly sometimes. Everyone doesn't share your opinions and your opinions aren't always what's best for porn or the girls involved.
Can someone please show me some of these boob jobs that supposedly look "so real" I wouldn't know unless I was told?? For me, there have only been 2 cases of these. Sylvia Saint and Velicity Von, both only in the beginning of their careers. After losing some weight the implants became rather obvious. Other than these two, I've never seen a pair of implants that didn't look fake from a mile away. I won't even get into how horrible and stiff they feel to the touch. Maybe someday implants will be made of something that closely resembles human breast tissue. But right now they are the equivalent of a bad toupee. The fact that a small number of people can't tell the difference doesn't change anything.
Looking at OP's avatar something just occurred to me. I read in an interview with Trina Michaels that she had natural D cups before she entered porn and she got implants just to go to DD! Natural effin' D Cups, folks! That is a crime against humanity. Ever since reading that interview I can't watch any of her scenes without wondering how much better she would have looked with those natural D's.
I'm a huge fan of big tit porn stars and breast implants that are well done. I understand many aren't and that's fine, but some of the anti-implant people are just rediculous. So they aren't natural. You know what is also not natural: makeup, radical hair coloring, rings that penetrate private parts, tatoos, and you get the idea. Breast impants and any cosmetic surgery are just a more expensive versions of that kind of thing a woman uses to look a different way. You can argue whether it makes them look better or not, but you can't argue millions of porn fans are huge fans of fake tits.

^ You're comparing make-up to silicone bags bolted on the chest?! Make up simply accentuates the girl's own features and can be removed in a minute. Implants are just fake body parts. They look and feel nothing like the real thing. The closest thing males have to that is the toupee. For the record, I don't like tattos and piercings either.
