I have noticed that some of the big sites like RealityKings, BangBros, etc. remove some of their videos after a certain amount of time. For instance, many of my favorite movies on Cumfiesta (most of which are 3 years old or older) are AWOL.
Forgive me if I sound naive, but I'm curious as to why this is. Is it an issue of server space? Or do they do so because they want to move the movies to DVD, etc? Do the performers ask to have the movies removed (this seems unlikely but I thought I'd toss it out there)? Or do they just think there's no demand for some of the older movies?

i think it's probably a mix of all of those ideas. I'm sure they can afford server space but maybe they just want to remove some of the clutter or they think no one looks at the old stuff. I don't know. :)

That's unfortunate. I'm a little irked because I bought my subscription based on some promo clips/pics that I found on another site. But when I went to Cumfiesta, the corresponding movies are not there. I realize that they cannot control/police how long the promo clips stay online, but it seems to me that if they are going to make some of their content available for promos, they should be committed to keeping that content online.

To be honest, I'm sure it has just as much to do with the fact that many subscribers don't spend much time on the older clips because they are a) not as high resolution as the newer stuff, b) typically of inferior quality due to advances in technology and c) typically comprised of multiple smaller clips because it used to be the norm prior to high-speed connectivity.
I know when I go on a site-rip spree (legally, I'm paying for my subs), I usually stop downloading clips at about the 2-year mark. Anything created prior to mid 2005 just isn't going to match the more recent stuff.
