Has anybody seen the Swedish film "Pleasure" yet and what did you think?
It premiered at Sundance at the beginning of this year. It's a feature remake of Ninja Thyberg's own 2013 short film. An art house film about the state of today's porn and also includes roles and cameos for real porn stars, directors and agents like Evelyn Clair, Dana DeArmond, Kendra Spade, Abella Danger, Alex Brauna, Mark Spiegler and many others.
No, I haven't seen it. It says coming soon. The last part is cringe. The first part shows her at customs? do porn studios allow non citizens to film porn?
This requires a work permit. Who pays for these permits? Why did the girl in the movie tell immigration she was here for pleasure? she would've shown them her work permit.

Just finished watching this movie and I have to agree with Evelyn Claire. It doesn't put the porn industry in a bad light or just focus on the unethical side of porn. It shows the reality of the industry and what female stars have to put up within the industry to become a star. It shows that studios and agents can be cold and unethical. Zelda Morrison is a break-out star in this movie and I can see here having a future in Hollywood. Also, the one rough scene with the unethical studio is just stories women have told about FacialAbuse.com
I've finally seen the movie. Bella (Sofia) is a great actress, super cute and overall stunning looking movie. But if this is realistic then show me a list of new girls who jump straight to princess Donna levels of hardcore. Evelyn has never done such a scene and she's been doing porn for half a decade. It's certainly not expected of girls. As a metaphor girls feeling pressure to do stuff to be successful okay. But how is that different to any other job? There's always pressure from competition who do more and work harder. Obviously they chose this to have a shocking effect. If they'd just use anal or interracial, which is a more realistic stepping stone with sometimes years buildup, then it'd be a bit boring for this movie. Same with the first interracial, straight to double anal lol. Final sex scene with Evelyn (if it was real) might've been her most extreme scene in her career haha. It's an enjoyable movie to watch.
Expected a bigger role for Evelyn in this. Her whole script would easily fit on the back of a beer coaster.
"It looks like she has a creamy situation going on" "It also kind of smells, she probably has a yeast infection" (Afterwards in the car) "(Sorry?) What for?"

For me the film was fine, a 3 out of 5 star movie that in a few days I'll likely have forgotten about seeing. On an aesthetic and technical level it was a bit more melodramatic at times than I would have liked, and at those points in the film I found myself yearning for the cold distant style of Starz's The Girlfriend Experience.
I and my partner both found the last porn scene very hot, which was likely not the director's intention .
The ending choice of our protagonist led me to believe that the film was intended as an anti-industry statement, and the critical support this film has received indicates to me that the movie is perceived as anti-industry, since I doubt that critics would applaud it otherwise. I also fully expect SWERFs to embrace and promote the film once they get wind of it and give it a watch. However, I suspect that not many people will see the movie and it won't have much of an impact.
^ The film did an exceptional job of what goes on in the industry, even though we don't want to believe it. Ninja Thyberg doesn't waste time to show the audience of how empty it feels on a porn set, compared to the final product we the viewers see.
And there seems to be little qualms from the people who work in the industry who took part in the movie. Evelyn Claire herself practically said it was 99% accurate, apart from doing a scene for free.

Like I said I thought it was ok and showed some of the unethical practices of the industry but also showed some ethical ones too. Other than Blacked.com doing a free scene that scene did show consent and stars choosing their partner, the kink.com scene with Aiden Starr also showed consent and BD/SM. I just wish we had couple more scenes like this and maybe show her doing a Feature movie, where she has to practice lines for the role. Also, why didn't they get another female director like Joanna Angel for a scene like that? Small hands was in the movie, they couldn't Joanne? I think performers have a problem with it because they know everybody's experience in porn is different and this really only shows one side.
I give it 3 and a half stars, it's good but has it's problems and worth a rental

^^According to an article linked to by snufish, some of the participants in the film didn't care for the final product.
Evelyn dismissed their criticisms and supports the film, but I'm curious to know if she's the only one. I don't tend to follow pornstars on social media, but I looked at the Twitter pages of a couple of the pornstars in the film and they haven't mentioned Pleasure at all.

^Hmm. One possible explanation is that the performers who've seen Pleasure aren't fans, but they don't want to generate publicity for the film by saying anything.
