Just gonna weigh in and say Studio 14 from Pinnacle is a real POS, and their online support sucks. Also, don't shoot stuff you don't wanna see yourself. I thought I'd edit and post a bunch of clips of a tranny I know playing with herself. Turns out I am just getting really sick and tired of watching her jerk off. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
I used to have Pinnacle's Studio DV way back (I might even still have it somewhere). I think it came with a Firewire card I bought. I remember not liking it. I think I threw things across the room trying to let off some steam that built up from me not being able to figure out how to do something.
And I agree about the other thing. If you're seriously gonna try and sell porn, you should try and get off to it at least twice before you put it out there. Not everyone likes the same things but if you're shooting stuff you don't even like, you're not gonna have a clue what's hot and what's just pointless.
Everything gets tiresome if you see it too often. Even my favorite scenes only get watched occasionally because I'm either burned out or trying to prevent burnout.
Off topic, but some of my best go-to-scenes are ones I shot. Not sure if it's because I relate to the girl better or if I just like my own work, but I just enjoy watching my own scenes. It doesn't always happen because I shoot girls I'm not attracted to, but I enjoy the scenes with girls I am attracted to.
What are you doing to attract people to your clips? You know what they say. Presentation is everything. Go to a TGP and start looking through the thumbnails. You will find yourself clicking on things that stand out for one reason or another. What you need to do is simply draw people in. Once they're there, they'll either like it or they won't but you're more likely to make money if you can get people to look at your stuff in the first place. What means TGP? I know you're talking about those pages that have all the thumbnail pictures. But I've avoided those for so long, I can't remember the good ones I used to check out.
Yeah. The TGPs with all the thumbs. Basically, I just meant you should go and look at some of them to get an idea of what people are thinking when they're evaluating porn. You notice that some pics stand out and some just seem to disappear into the background. The main thing is a good sample that leaves the sampler wanting the rest of it. Maybe you could try making some stuff for a really popular category. Even if you don't necessarily get off on it, as long as you do a better than average job it might encourage people to look at your other stuff. Though I guess it would be easy to fall into the trap of just making what sells. I don't know but it seems to me you will be able to make money with this if you find your audience. Especially since this gives you an opportunity to offer things that aren't readily available in mainstream porn. That's the kind of thing people have to pay for.
^ TGP = Thumbnail Gallery Post, commonly used in porn to show small (thumbnail) versions of all the larger format photos in a set. Commonly used in porn. I think TGP is almost synonyms with porn.
