I've got some bad news. All good things do come to an end.
I just made a change to the ADT Kickback Program. We're no longer accepting new sign-ups. We recently had a few conversations with the good folks at DVD Empire and we both agree that it is time for us to wind down the Adult DVD Talk Kickback Program.
We do not currently have a definitive schedule in mind. It will be an orderly process. When we have the details worked out we will notify all active Kickback Program members of the process via email. We most likely will stop accepting orders through the Kickback system in 30 days. Any available Kickback credit will remain available for one year from the date that we stop accepting Kickback orders. We will also change the redemption process so you will be able to redeem the entire amount available in your account instead of multiples of $10.

Bummer.
Their specials have been lacking lately, then they cancel Gonzo Month, now this.
It's like DVD Empire wants me to not shop there anymore.

Sad to say but true. Without KickBack there's little reason to shop at (Adult) DVDEmpire.
It seems that selling porn is tough sledding in the present economy, with AdultDVDPacific missing in action too.

AdultDVDEmpire seems to have undergone a very fast change in marketing. They increased studio prices fairly broadly (they actually increased prices before their new lower prices advertising), abandoned most of their better sales (Buy 1 Get 1, 50% off, etc.), and now are leaving kickbacks. I can understand that they may have been too aggressive with all the programs combined but their new approach certainly does not make them very competitive. It is too bad, I probably spent over $1000 per year with them and for the last 6 months nothing has attracted a purchase.

I think it's more of a sign of the times. DVD sales are declining. It's a fact of doing business in this industry. I have no idea what profit margins are like for DVD sales compared with rentals or VOD but I'm sure the mix has changed significantly over the years.
In order for a rewards program like Kickbacks to make sense it needs to maintain a certain order volume. In my opinion it's been below that volume for over a year now. If you're shopping purely on price then ADE might not be your first choice without Kickbacks. There are lots of other reasons to shop there.

I'll second some of what Drew said. ADE might be a little more price wise, but their customer service has always been top notch and I think they put more into their store than a lot of other cheaper stores. Yes, you can buy DVDs cheaper elsewhere, but there aren't many stores that offer as many interviews, screenshots, etc. as ADE and if they're not supported that goes away.

And thank you to both ADE and ADVDT for keeping this program going as long as it did.

It was a good run. According to my account info, I redeemed $210 over the course of the program, and that's with next to no activity in the last 2 years. The DVD era is winding down, and nothing lasts forever. Seeing the actual number for what I got out of it just makes me think, I can't complain.
I think they dropped out of the program quite a while ago, but I earned and spent a lot of kickbacks at XrentDVD as well. Thanks to Drew, Steph and all who made it happen.

That's too bad really. I really used and liked the kickbacks.

I just received my kickback and I discovered I can use it for both adult and regular merchandise at DVD Empire. I was slow to sign up and kind of regret that and it's too bad some others never signed up. Thanks to ADE and ADT for such a great program. For those saying it's not worth shopping at ADE that's a mistake. I love their widespread stock (many of the so-called cheaper places don't stock all brands) and their website has real time stock info. If they say they have 1 copy left in stock that's correct. They fill up your order and ship quickly. Time to end my unsolicited testimonial

30 days has passed quite some time ago. The last day to earn credit for Kickback orders will be June 30th, 2010. On July 1st I'll remove the Kickback links from the price search pages.
We will be issuing credits for orders placed since March in the next few days.

Jeez, I thought kickbacks was closed already so I stopped using it. Duh? ... my bad!
I still have an order (my last kickback order) "in process" from February.
When should we redeem the credit in out kickback account?
Thanks.

That order will be credited soon.
Credit will be able to be redeemed through the end of the year.

I've removed all of the kickback links from the price search pages. No more Kickback orders.

FYI : That change is not working for me. Redemption still wants increments of $10.

I apoligize, I forgot about this. I need to write to DVD Empire again about this. When they issue gift certificates they can only be in certain whole dollar amounts. I had a brief discussion with them about this a while back and completely forgot that I needed to finish it up.

I completely forgot about my kickback balance. The webpage for requests was still active so I thought I could still get a gift certificate to Adultdvdempire. I requested it on March 8th, and have not gotten an email yet. Can I still get it?
