Here are some relevant bits:The author goes on to talk about how Cock Hero is also an extension of the Porn Music Video genre. PMV's are rapidly edited snippets of gonzo porn that are set to music, usually with some kind of pulsing beat. The creation of these videos raises some obvious questions about copyright infringement. However, I think a strong argument could be made that these videos fall under the legal doctrine of Fair Use. They're not made for profit and use only small bits of copyrighted works. But companies may be well within their rights to try and put a stop to the massive proliferation these videos if the feel they threaten their bottom line. But what if instead they saw an opportunity here? These videos garner millions of views so there is obviously a huge demand for them. And porn companies have a massive back catalog of scenes just laying around. So what if instead of releasing traditional compilations porn companies instead recut their old footage and set it to music in the manner of these Cock Hero games and PMV's? I could think of a few content producers who have the editing and music skills for this kind of thing. Darkko makes all the music for his releases and it's fantastic. He could easily recut and set his scenes to his distinctive style of techno music. HardX, as their incredible tease footage attests, has amazing editing skills and always uses music that gets viewers in the mood. It seems to me that releasing videos in this style would be a low-cost way to exploit previously filmed footage and net a tidy profit. So what do you all think about this? [Link] |
