I've found a performer on IAFD who is known by several names and has at least 2 separate entries. I was going to submit those corrections here, but I see in the master thread that I should use the "submit corrections" button at IAFD instead.
In the past I've done that and actually spent a pretty large amount of effort to do so, literally spending several hours combing box covers and providing links to all of them as "proof" for combining entries. However, my submission was never acknowledged or acted upon. So you can see why I'd rather do it here and why I'm asking. :)
Let me know if there's any real advantage to using the form on IAFD or if I can just post a new thread here.
It's quite possible we thought you were wrong? Maybe we screwed it up?
Post it here and let's find out. Without you telling us who you're talking about we'll never know
IMHO, this forum was created and best used for situations where some back-and-forth discussion is involved.
"Submit Corrections" is pretty much a one-way deal (we act on it or decide not to). Sometimes things do slip through the cracks. In any event, the "Submit Corrections" process generates an automated confirmation when something is acted on, but, unfortunately, does not inform contributors if or why a submission is not acted on.
Getting the email bounce is how you'll know that the submission was received. Once you have that, sit tight, and you should get another e-mail is a week or so once the submission was processed.
We have two different form letters we send out when we close a ticket -- one says "thanks" and the other says "thanks, but there were issues"
However, since we're privacy loving guys, if you didn't check either of the boxes off (or gave us a bogus e-mail address) then you wouldn't know the status of your corrections.
If you could let me know who you were submitting corrections on, I can check the queue.
However, posting corrections in this forum is perfectly OK too; it just might slow processing down a tad, which is why we ask you do it via our button...
My failed attempt at combining performers happened quite some time ago. I would guess between 4 to 6 years ago. It was for Faith Adams, the "wife" of Sunrise Adams. At the time there were at least 3 if not 5 separate entries for her and I attempted to combine them. I do not recall if I used the check boxes, but I do remember checking my email for the first few days and then for 2 to 3 weeks following and being disappointed that my work was wasted. I didn't even save a copy, as I just typed it all into the submission form over a period of hours.
My new combination is about a Brazillan performer named Fabiana. I will post back here in the next 12 hours or so with details.
Thanks guys. I should have really said what an ENORMOUS fan of IAFD that I am. It's an essential resource for me and I think you guys do an amazing job. So thank you. For real.

The "submit corrections" buttons were only installed last year.

Hmmm... I don't doubt you, but there must have been something. Perhaps it was a simple "email us with corrections" and an email address? I assure you I did attempt to make this correction.
I will utterly take the blame. My inbox is still hovering around 1750 items...
However, this e-mail seems to have been acted upon, and I checked and all the corrections contained are on Faith Adams' page... however, I'm pretty certain we never sent an e-mail saying we acted upon -- especially since it took us almost 18 months to get to it. (Peter and I weren't nearly as efficient as the team is now.)

I am stunned. First that my correction was acted upon. Second that it took 18 months, but STILL GOT DONE! Third that you still have a copy of the original email.
Finally, thank you for respecting my privacy and anonymizing the original email. :)
