It is nothing really new, but while Frank Thring for instance had erotic feeling with his condom use at least, newer private flicks just use condoms to kill last remains of heat. I just watched <Your Time is Up>. I very much liked setting in old wrecked car park, but actors wearing condoms to fuck girls killed it all. Private is only current porn easily available here in Moscow, but I will NEVER buy it again!

I agree (with the praise of Private). They should only be applauded for honouring the wishes of the women.
Whether or not you choose to buy a movie that has condoms (I haven't yet, and will go out of my way to make sure that it doesn't unless it's somehow meaningful in relation to the plot) should have no bearing on the quality of the studio or its ethical choices. While I might not be a customer of an all-condom studio, I can still respect them and think that they're doing a good job.
(On the flip-side, I would boycott any studio that I knew excessively pressured its female performers to not wear condoms, and they would lose my respect.)
I just had a sudden thought. Wouldn't it be interesting if, although shot with condoms, a movie were digitally altered to remove them? Assuming it could be done, it would make everybody happy...
For a step in the right direction, some studios (I think Wicked is one of them) has been trying to go with more natural looking condoms and taking the time to cut off the condom donut. I've seen a couple scenes where they do it and the condom is barely even noticeable. It seems like a great way to have the safety without having it stand out like a neon sign.
let's look at this for a second. while using condoms might be without a doubt the most REASONABLE thing to do, it's definitely (for most of us) not the most AESTHETICAL. thing is, most of us don't give a shite how much of a reasonable thing a porn flick is, we demand eye-candy. so, while porn studios should do everything possible for making sure all talent is tested properly and everyone involved in making a porn flick is free to use condoms off-set, jimmyhats got no business in front of a camera.
i guess as long as it's impossible to have condoms that are totally invisible, please don't even consider using some that kinda look less like condoms. they still are and as we all know jerking off doesn't make one myopic. removing condoms digitally? come on. like the incredible job they did inserting digital cumshots in virtual sex flicks?! don't get me started.

Condom use the decision of the talent in the film, not a company mandate. "Your Time is Up" is an American film under the Private label. American talent is accustomed to using condoms, as it is only smart in this day and age. Personally, I would prefer not to see them, but I can understand why they do it.
As I said earlier, Private has used condoms in the past. In their newer European releases, they still don't use them.
I don't think it is fair to put down a whole company for a whole 3 films.
Btw: apparently, Kovi is no longer one of those producers.
The new Black Label will be the "porn soap-opera", as said in another thread, while the new Fetish Machine will be directed by Italian cyber chick Susi Medusa.

I agree with Lyons, Astro and Mythy. I also think this is where ADT and its reviewers come into light and highlight their benefits. If I am interested in buying a specific title, I check out the reviews of it on ADT, if available. If there is any mention of condoms....I simply avoid it! Its simple really, there are plenty of Private titles that don't feature condoms.
I dunno man, Private use to be my favorite company but not anymore because they are heading towards the couple-appeal genre faster and faster. It seems now they mostly care about production values and a great storyline instead of hot sex, the way Woodman use to shoot his movies.
Before anyone gets the wrong idea here, there is still virtually no condom use in Private flics. This thread makes it sound like a huge problem, but it is really rare. And I watch a LOT of Private discs.
BTW - I recently reviewed Anal Intensive 5 from Woodman/Hustler (it'll be posted very shortly) and I can tell you that the recent Adamo/Kovi Private DVDs are about 500% hotter than that disc. I was positively depressed with how cold and mechanical Woodman's treatment of those Euro Beauties was. What a waste of hot flesh!

I dunno if it's me but I don't think the whole Woodman switch from Private to Hustler was not such a good idea. I wonder how much freedom and money Hustler gives Woodman to shoot his movies. Don't get me wrong; I still think Woodman is one of the best director out there but he needs to go back to basic.
