NO, that´s NOT a thread about pirate DVDs. What I want to know is how many DVDs one of them industrial machines can press hourly. It can give an idea of how many defective DVDs can come on a batch.

some info i found,

'Express Audio Industries on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur is one of 43 companies in Malaysia licensed to make CDs and DVDs. It can make up to 30,000 discs every day. '

so something like 1250 / hr

hope that helps.

Holy crap.

No wonder DVDs can be MUCH cheaper than VHSs. They can be produced much more quickly and in bigger quantities, and the disc itself has no moving parts as opposed to a tape.

it could be even more than that due to the amount of info on a disc and the rate of the burner

Sure. Even so, it´s STILL far more than conventional VHS duplication. And I won´t even mention picture quality, storage space and etc.

Planet, you've made that point four times.
It's okay I believe ewe. I'm only messin' as ewe know, because you have a sense of humor and can take a joke.
I suppose that's why I like ya.

Yup, I sure get mad every time i have to pay less for better quality, that really sucks...
Get a grip on yourself fb, if you don't want to buy the DVD (or CD) don't, but loose the "poor me' whine against the "evil corporations".

and now its more expensive to buy albums on vinyl. its a cycle that will probably never end. we'll look back on our DVDs in 20 years and think how shit they are compared to the new MegaDVD or something

Laugh all you want but, as an audiophile, I do prefer vinyl over CDs.
