Maybe it's just me, but I really enjoy watching Adamo flics with my wife. It's very pretty stuff, even though the sex is very hard. Have others had good luck with sharing this type of flic? We enjoy this far more than the typical, heavy plot based, porno movie.

This is a very interesting topic... at least to me. I showed my wife Italian Flair and she was practically bored to tears. I can certainly understand why that is being that it's... really practically 100% aesthetic, rather than emotional. I find it even more interesting, in fact, that your wife likes it...

I know why _I_ like it....but I'm curious to know what your wife liked about it. And what specifically you watched. Maybe I showed Mrs. MLyons the wrong movie. :)

I must add the disclaimer that my wife is not necessarily typical.

We both found Italian Flair boring. Gladiator too. We would both much rather see people who are very into the sex, regardless of whether it is mish or dp's. We don't care whether there is plot or not, and aesthetics is not our major concern. We want to see people who are hot for each other.

We also don't care whether it is supposed to be love or romance, or just lust. Somebody should be hard, somebody should be wet, somebody should be ripping somebody's clothes off, and they should both be breathing heavy. (I say 'both' because I have yet to see a group scene where the people were as turned on as they can be one-on-one. Although we have seen a few good threesomes and dp's).

Oh, also, we both dislike mannequin-like women, and fakery of any sort, including overdubbed moaning. We are earthy people.

We don't find the sex in the Adamo flicks to be very hard, either. The dp in Italian Flair looked to me like a game of Yertle the Turtle. The people are too dissociated from what they are doing. In one scene the guy had his hands on his hips, looked like he could barely keep from checking his watch.

Must add, some people will like it, if they don't mind all that; it looks like Vogue magazine come to life - pretty people, lotsa makeup and hair, posing.

I think it IS just you, aybesea. Most of the Private titles that I've seen have left me cold. I agree the females are attractive, but...well, I don't watch for the females, and they seem devoid of any personality.

I also have to add that Italian Flair is really the only Adamo title I've really liked so far. Lindi does have a good point:
I'm not blind to this... and I certainly see it. And as much as I agree that there isn't much (any?) passion there, I can appreciate it purely from a visual eye candy standpoint. Eye candy not just in the sense of beautiful women, but also interesting lighting, production and interesting music. Italian Flair, though, is the only one so far that has given me enough to go on. :) Don't get me wrong there are isloated moments where I believed that there was some sexual feeling between Adamo performers, but... VERY isolated.

I wonder if this is one of those major dividing lines between men and women... in that men are quicker to appreciate things simply because of pleasing aesthetics. Again, I really am interested in what your wife thinks Ayb. :) She's the only woman I've so far heard of that actually likes Adamo... or those kinds of movies... How does she feel about Blake?

I don't mean to make amatuerish generalizations here. There are men who don't care too much for how the performers look vs how they seem to FEEL, (I can be one of them depending on my mood) but I think that it's interesting. There's alot to consider, and one of the biggest things is that very little of today's porn is made with the woman's input in mind. I hope that forums like this serve to encourage producers to change that.

I like Adamo quite a bit ... it was the glamour of Andrew Blake that got me hooked into porn, after all.

The fact that the performers aren't "in to it" is less of a factor for me because I know that most performers treat this as a job, not as recreation. And the motivation for almost all European talent is to get paid -- it's not really any different than modeling, only that it pays more.

I'd love to have the asthetic, hot sex, and chemistry all in the same movie, but I'll take any one that I can get!

Most recently we watched In The Arms Of Evil which is almost entirely shot outdoors in a tropical setting. It struck us both as beautiful and romantic (in fact kinda reminscent of our honeymoon).

As far as Blake goes, I love it! But my wife thinks it's weird (her words) and she doesn't appreciate all of the lesbianism.

Blake is too cold for us, as well.

Neither my husband nor I enjoyed Adamo's Devil in the Flesh. It was pretty to look at, but we found it formulaic and empty of emotional content. I don't like to judge a director on the basis of a single DVD, however, and perhaps Devil in the Flesh was not one of Adamo's better movies (though it sounds like it's consistent with his established style).

The only Andrew Blake movie I've tried watching is Secrets. Unfortunately, the authoring job by Caballero was so bad that the disc would barely play in my machine (I've had this problem with more than one Caballero DVD). It froze at the end of the second scene. What I had seen up to that point didn't particularly arouse me, however. I could see Ashlyn Gere's mouth moving as she vocalized in her usual animalistic style, but I couldn't hear her since the sounds were edited out.

I have always thought of Private as couples fair. Their attention to detail and well designed sets have an appeal to the fairer sex. Or maybe the girls I date have a costume fetish? I have watched the Tatiana trilogy and Operation Sex siege with my girlfriend and she liked them allot more than the gonzo films that characterized the early porn I bought. The only problem is that American girls (or at least those in the bible belt) have a problem with anal sex.

Personally speaking, I've thought of the loss of woodman and ther arrival of Adamo as pretty much the end of my interest in Privates' premium fare.
In terms of couples interest, my gf is only an occasional porn watcher, but when we watch porn together it is more likely to be the total opposite end of the spectrum to an Adamo film. When we watch together we generally like to see people fucking, to put it bluntly, and so something a bit more edgy and amateurish is more our cup of tea.

This is not to decry Adamo in terms of couples appeal and I can certainly see its appeal, especially perhaps to someone trying to introduce a partner to porn and trying to overcome some of their misconceptions. Certainly, for a reluctant partner who has previously regarded porn as somehow seedy, an Antonio Adamo film might be just the ticket to put their mind at ease.

I recently watched Big Member and found it a aesthetically pleasing but emotionally void. While I'd gladly take some stills of Claudia Jamsson's scene for my PC wallpaper, as I was watching it I couldn't help thinking about how great everything looked, artistically speaking, instead of how hot Claudia was. Believe me aybesea, I understand where you're coming from, but the stylization just puts me off. As far as sharing it goes, I don't have anybody to share it with , so I can't speak to that.
