I was wondering what forum members’ experiences were with Credit Cards? I have Visa at the moment, but my bank is changing to MasterCard, and I wondered, as I have only ever held a Visa card, what the pros/cons of Visa versus MasterCard were (for porn (or any other) purchases)?

TIA.

I think it's pretty much the same, although maybe VISA would be more widely accepted, maybe... If I were you, I'd just check if your favourite online porn stores take Mastercard. I've always used VISA for my porn shopping.

I think any decent online store will accept both VISA and MasterCard.

Like 2 years ago my VISA card didn't accept business from Lasersedge, it got rejected so I ordered to Mastercard. Don't have a problem now with any stores I order at.

I always use Visa. Sometimes I've had problems with the policies of the issuing bank rather than Visa, as they will try to check up the sale by phoning me, as an anti-fraud measure. This is of course commendable to ensure some overseas bod isn't stealing my cash, but it rather does waste the money that I spent on express delivery...

Jacco would probably know more than me about this, but I have heard that bank policies can also cause problems to merchants when their banks discover they're in the adult industry, particularly in the UK, and that it can be hard to obtain or retain card processing facilities when such information is disclosed.

I suggest anyone with a Visa from First Direct, gets rid of it before February.
