https://www.xbiz.com/news/258575/mastercard-tightens-payment-regulations-for-sellers-of-adult-content

Budding pornograpers and actors could suffer the most. Crypto would be the future. I am a total novice on crypto. Anyone want to give tips on how it works, how to get started?

Thanks

Short of calling you idle, have you not considered watching YouTube tutorials for an introduction to cryptocurrency and mining?

Porn sites can accept cc with no problems. There is no purge going on.

Anyone holding? New to the crypto game myself, been in about a month or so. Having a blast, enjoying myself. Learning more and more.

What's your coins? What are you bullish on?

I'm looking at:

- Bitcoin
- Etherium
- Cardano
- Matic
- Ankr
- Skale
- Storj

Not holding any Skale or Storj anymore. Got ETH pushed over to ETH2 and staking now. Staking Cardano too. The news from the Africa special was pretty huge, for adoption levels. Also, soon for Mattic all or nearly all of Egypt's imports will be on the blockchain, partnering with CargoX, in the next month or so.

I'm also very keen on the adult entertainment world entering the crypto world, especially as it becomes more and more adopted - break the control of the CC companies over content restrictions on adult websites.

I'm ready, willing and able to purchase my memberships with their choice of cryptocurrency.

There's a lot more to blockchain than cryptocurrencies. Blockchain technology is revolutionary but it's being lumped in with crypto in a way that's not beneficial to the promotion of the technology.

ManyVids and OnlyFans should be updating video players, and video formats that use blockchain and NFTs for authenticating someone's rights to view content. It would be a step in the right direction but wouldn't prevent piracy. As long as there are methods to record what's displayed on a screen it will be possible for pirates to do their thing.

^ I am in full agreement with you - I am not a Dogecoin "bro", and overall, I hew hard to utility coins, things with real world purpose and applications. I like them both as I'm in it for the long term and I think they have the best chances at sticking around but also for their effects at being disruptive and game changing in their various fields.

One of the things I like about Cardano so well is Hoskins approach to the whole thing, not being focused on pumps, dips, price speculation, not going as fast as possible and borking things in the process. Here's a quote from him that I found very refreshing:

A lot of people got all bent when their special came, not seeing the "big deal" and it's implications for the people on the ground, more worried about trying to get rich, and quick, than to think at all about the ramifications of this roll out:

I like the concept of scaling decentralized storage, ways to compete with and against Amazon and other big centralized clouds. Some are even offering Amazon S3 (I think) compatibility to make the switch over easy as possible.

I also like the PoS becoming more of a thing vs PoW, and overall I think that's going to wind up being more of the future than all the associated issues that come with PoW.

I'm just blathering on now, lol, just trying to toss out a few things and in general agree. If you've the time, got any sweet real world blockchain applications that aren't tied up in crypto and all that jazz? I'm keen on it's continued adoption all over really.

There are many, many other consensus algorithms beyond PoW and PoS.

This might be of interest to you Apache Hyperledger.

That's pretty fascinating to see developing countries using the latest tech to modernise, while the developed world is attached to older, but already established, technologies! It's something that already happened, when, in the 2000s, Eastern Europe was introduced to the Internet, and since they built their infrastructure with the newest technology available, they ended up with Internet connections leagues ahead of what's available in Western Europe (looking at YOU, Germany).
Still, I'm kinda sad I missed the big bitcoin hype train in the early 2010s, and I'm now stuck with either investing in computers to mine some bitcoin, or with alt coins that may or may not gain traction (and when they do, it may be because of memes).
If I get some money to invest some day, I think I'll put it in something like these holiday villas in Cyprus https://tranio.com/rent/cyprus/detached/ , because people are going to flock to holiday destinations as soon as the pandemic's over, but that's only if I had money to invest.

I've seen porn sites starting to accept crypto. I've still seen some of the same sites nonetheless pressured to remove content by CC processors. Epoch seems to be the worst right now, but others may follow suit. Hopefully not, and hopefully crypto gains more adoption to make this a moot point.
