Just rented this Jonathan Morgan spoof of TV dating shows. I always kind of desperately want to like his movies, but comedy is so hard to do that it never comes off well in porn. Most Hollywood comedies don't make me laugh, so maybe I'm a tough sell. I thought the acclaimed Hercules outright sucked.

Anyway, parts of this were great. Aurora Snow's scene might be the funniest I've ever seen, and it was greatly enhanced by my usual viewing pattern on Wicked movies: watch the extras first, and switch to the commentary during sex. Seeing her being interviewed while they put a wig on her, then listening to Morgan describe the problems they had keeping it on, while watching her struggle with it and do the whole second half of the scene with one hand pressed hard against her head... priceless stuff.

It was even pretty funny in the intended ways. She does a silly Eastern European accent that's way funnier than getting an Eastern European actress to do the same jokes, especially after you've seen her struggle to make up words in the bloopers.

Sometimes when a movie isn't that funny (Hercules) you're left with nothing in the non-sex stretches, but in this one something made me root for the actors while they were sort of humiliating themselves. During Nicole Sheridan's cringe-inducing part, even if you're not laughing because of her in the way you're supposed to, I found myself enjoying the ballsiness of going for it like that.

Anyway, I guess I'm recommending this to people who have been disappointed by porn comedies in the past.
