Talk in the "Porn is Dying" topic has me conscious of being fair to the industry and paying my way, which I want to do for the very selfish reason that I want porn to thrive.
I use a lot of VOD.Do the people who make adult movies see a fair royalty from places like AEBN and Hot Movies, or is VOD part of the problem? An autoritative answer to this would be very appeciated.

I'm not sure how much they get from VOD but it must be worth it to them;otherwise they wouldn't license it. As far as supporting the industy you're paying for it and not using ripoff sites like a lot of people!

I suspect that licensing VOD falls under the category of 'something is better than nothing.'

This is an interesting topic, mostly because I've gotten to the point now where buying DVD's is just too slow, too expensive (shipping and all that), and too troublesome (getting out the DVD, storing them somewhere, etc.) that I'd just rather do direct purchase-to-permanently-download VOD.
But at the same time, I want to give the majority of my support to the actual filmmakers and studios . . . it'd be great to hear from some of them as to how much they make off of VOD.

This has been a concern of mine too, but not for VOD. I have a deluxepass membership every-once-in-a-while...I download a few things, then let the subscription expire. is a megasite about the same as the vod, "better than nothing?"

I think for the companies it's some needed extra-cash since the DVD sales seem to drop. I still prefer to buy the DVDs. If I can't afforg it or can't get it here (more likely to happen) then I wait and don't watch it until I got the disc.
The general user seems to get more and more interested in VOD. I think many people are still "scared" to go to a local porn- or videostore to get their fuck-flicks what makes VOD ideal for them. Addig to that comes the convenience, you don't need to leave the house, just go online and download. Again, I don't like it, but I think many people do.
So, concerning my thoughts I think that VOD will grow more and become a better business for the producers than it might be now...
