^ The girl is generally paid for her scene long before the box cover photo is selected. If there is a separate shoot just for the box cover she would be paid for that shoot but not likely if the still is from the day of the scene. She wouldn't get paid extra for her scene. But, you're right because just saying no is kind of like saying never. It MAY happen under some situation, but I think it's very rare. Maybe a better answer would be I've never heard of it happening. I've shot scenes and done print work. I've NEVER been paid extra for a cover, either for a video or print. But, if publishers like your work, they'll buy more of it. Same for talent. If they like the scenes you do and they like the stills you do and they tend to use those stills for more box covers, they'll be more likely to use you as talent and you'll eventually make more.
^ is it just that being on the cover is essentially like winning a proverbial "gold star", it makes you feel good (and is good for that performer's publicity in this case) but doesn't really mean anything extra in terms of money? its like being named to the all-district team in high school sports, its cool but you don't get any cash from it. I have never gotten paid more for an IR scene nor have I asked to be paid extra just because the talent was African American I have never gotten paid more for a b/g/g scene versus a b/g I never got paid extra for being on the box cover unless the photo shoot was scheduled on a separate day than my scene thus preventing me to do another scene that day. I have never gotten paid more for rough sex or bondage versus a regular scene (which has made me consider some of those offers) I would say the rate ranges are realistic. Personally I never got paid rates that were significantly higher in my career. My rates have been the same for 10 years. Sometimes you get offered jobs below your rate, sometimes it's misleading what the shoot included but then you don't have to work for that company again. I mostly do anal scenes. It's not due to personal preference but also not something I mind. Anal pays more so I'm totally cool with it. I don't talk directors into letting me do it but it seems that if I'm in the scene it just needs to be anal. Probably has more to do with they type of following a performer has, what type of movie it is etc.
There was a time a few years ago when I was literally on every damn box cover and sometimes producers told me they can't hire me because I'm somewhat over exposed. This is just talk, it never actually lead to less bookings for me. Today it seems different because producers tend to appreciate girls that have a name and have done a lot of previous work. So the more box cover, the better isn't always true.
^ Except, that assumes that the scene was shot specifically for a DVD. I'm on exactly two box covers (out of 5 DVD appearances) and those are both DVD where I'm the "main attraction". The others are all compilations of web scenes, and they could have picked any of us. No one got paid extra. When you sign the model release, you're usually signing over all rights to the images shot, so the can do as they please with them.
If BJ's (and ostensibly Handjobs as well) are so relatively inexpensive to shoot, why can't we get another edition of "Head Case" or EA's "Let Me Jerk You"?
The cost to shoot/produce/publish/distribute is the same and there's less of a market (volume) for them. The talent cost is relatively small compared to all the other costs of making DVDs. Less profit means less product. The exception is web content since most of the costs are less.

anyone here know what the current TOP straight male pornstars (i mean the same 50-60 guys you see like everywhere) earn per scene on average?
^My guess is whatever they can get. If you can get hired on a regular basis then any amount above 300$ for a standard B/G with penetration is more than acceptable. If a guy regularly shoots 10 scenes per week at 300$ then he's making 12000$ a month so you can see what kind of money they can make if they get more.

I'd pay what ever it took for 24 hours with Remy LaCroix. Edited by - RemyGetsMeWet on 6/15/2012 9:17:34 PM
I doubt (as a man myself) that any male porn performer is shooting ten sexual scenes a week. Men's dicks don't work like that. Four times a week is about the limit and that is possible only if you are James Deen's age. I also think most well established porn studs make more than $300 a scene.
^ a man couldn't do 10 in one week? Fuck I can pop twice in an hour. Granted the second might not be the same heft, but I certainly bet a porn guy could do at least 20 in a week

i don't know about 20 that seems kinda crazy but if a guy really wanted to i guess he could "work" 7 days a week and from what i hear a scene on average takes a few hours to shoot so he could probably do 2 a day which means 14 scenes per week. 20 scenes means the dude would have to shoot 3 scenes a day, that seems a bit much. ^In a documentary I watched this week Marco Banderas said he popped ten times in four hours, which is nuts! (excuse the pun). FWIW I have found a link to that claim. He must have had a serious case of the 'blue balls' after this. Pop shot record

FWIW i myself can cum to orgasm if i really want 5 times in about half hour (from jerking off, not sex) so 10 in 3 hours seems pretty easy : )

keep in mind i have to not jerk off for about a week prior to that though : ) is any of this normal, from what i've read apparently i'm a "multi-orgasmic" male. Edited by - Opium on 6/15/2012 5:52:18 AM
Doesn't happen. No way. Try reading James Deen's blog or twitter feeds. He works all the time, probably more than almost anyone, but he's doing less than one per day. He works almost every day, but if you following him regularly, you'll find he misses days for various reasons, but sometimes does more than one per day. 3somes or GBs don't count extra because he's typically only cumming once in those scenes. Figure closer to 5 or 6 scenes per week. Of course, that doesn't include how many times he cums in his personal life......
Thanks I knew $4,000 sounded way too high. However, I'm surprised its not more than $1,400 since its two guys instead of one guy, and anal is $1,200? I was thinking it would be $2,000. Should also point out these are rates from Speigler who has bigger name girls working for him. So rates are probably lower for lesser known girls. But what is the rate for gangbangs (i.e. at least 5 guys)?
^If that's the case then she made at least 52000 from just doing dp's because she has 35 of them listed on her IAFD page. If she made near 1000$ per anal than you can add another 100,000$ to that amount. Maybe she was telling the truth but my gut feeling is that she may have exagerated that amount a little. Now if she had said rthat she did some for 1500$ then that would be a different thing.

i wonder what these rates are for non-white women? if mirroring the rest of society i imagine that asian, latina, black, and other non-black women is paid less for doing these same sex acts.
^ Mark Spiegler is an agent so those figures should be true , also he only deals with top performers and if they aren't when signin with him they'll become short after
I don't know , but maybe her rates varied when she was at her top or maybe she was talking about a DAP but then it would be was almost cheap Anyway Mark Spiegler just above said the average rate is $ 1,400 for a DP and that is today , not much different and I think he knows the rates better than I do, besides Taylor Rain was a top star
^Is that why there seems to be a shortage of solo porn? As the rates for everything decrease, there's not enough pay in softcore/tease/solo work to make it worthwhile to buy even a new pair of fishnets.

I don't think these rates are indicative of regularly-booked scenes (i.e. active girls with agents being hired by traditional studios), but I immediately thought this would be of interest in this thread. From one of RealityKings' "bikini party" offerings. Winners at a "bikini contest" are offered a chance to earn some more money...
^^ Very interesting history of rates. It sure seems that rates have gone down considerably over the years. I suppose it's at least partly the Fabian Thylmann (ManWin/MindGeek) phenomenon going on. The poor economy from the middle of the Bush years to the last part of the Obama administration also perhaps attracted more actresses, bringing rates down. It will be interesting what the trump signed FOSTA bill will do.
