What happened to the FAQ link up top, didn't there used to be one? Anyway, what's the forum rules/legal situation now? If I want to illustrate a post with a screenshot, can I upload it to imageshack and just link to it? Especially if it's PG or R-rated?
Possibly an obvious answer, but I don't want to do it until I'm sure.

Pretty much like croy said, but you can link to anything you want. If the image is not on our servers then we're not responsible for it.
The FAQ needs to be rewritten. Since we launched the new profile system most of the FAQ was completely inaccurate.

there's a link to the image policy and the etiquette - most of the faq that wasn't outdated is covered in the etiquette.
