You'd have to plan it quite a bit, and make the best use of the time you have with these consumers. You'll need a way to record the information they give you about their purchasing habits and their likes and dislikes. If you really want specifics, a restaurant or bar is probably not the venue for such an explicit conversation.

I also think that having in-person focus groups will only be useful to you if you travel the country and talk to people from all over.

Being new to directing and being a fan yourself, you'd probably achieve your goal just by making product that you'd want to see yourself. That said, I think it's cool that you want to satisfy consumers. I wish a porn producer/director would ask me what I think about the porn I rent and purchase. But I'm a 35 married woman, so nobody gives a crap. My demographic is too small to make even a tiny dent in the market.

Well to answer all your questions :

- No, no questionaires, I mean if you're a good director you should be able to feel what the people in the room are asking you, and remember it the next time you do a movie.
- I'll find a way to remember what will be said during this diner. But I think it shouldn't be more tha 10 people at a time.
- Sure it be useful to travel to talk to people from all over, I'll just wait to see how it works in L.A, and then why not...
- Scipio, I don't know about the transport yet but it'll be in L.A so shouldn't be too far. And we will be paying of course for the food and drinks.

I really believe that one of the biggest problems with today's porn is too much mindless catering to what producer's perceive are the consumer's wishes. I really believe that no matter how much they might disagree, most consumers have NO IDEA what they really want, or at least what makes good porn.

Make something that YOU are proud of. Make something that turns YOU on. Just make sure that the final product is what turns you on, not the process of it, or the idea of it. What you see on the screen has to do it. If what you've created gives you chills, that's all that really matters. If you can achieve THAT, your audience will follow you .

I say, quit trying to follow them. We've tried that. It doesn't work.

I am so sick of the porn shelves being stuffed full of one movie after another trying to be more extreme than the last. It used to be that anal was pretty extreme, then a dp, then a double vag, then a double anal. What's next? Look, to each his/her own. I figure if it can be done, somebody out there is jerking off watching it. My frustration is just that this extreme stuff is apparently making so much money that very little really sexy stuff gets made anymore.

What have I always wanted to see? True "reality porn" - a series featuring an Ed Powers type setup (just a bed & a camcorder). But instead of old Ed & some unknown, a real starlet and her man just doing it like they would if there was no camera. Who wouldn't love to see some of these hot stars not doing what they're told, but doing what they want because it gets them off.

And oh by the way - zoom out once in a while. Who made the rule that 80% of the video needs to be a close-up of her vagina? Zoom out, let us see that beautiful body.
